Please don't dismiss this as a joke before looking at the sources because this is serious.
At least two academic studies have shown that men are coerced into sex almost as much as women.
One, appearing in the peer reviewed journal 'Sex Roles', conducted at Washington University:
http://www.washington.edu/newsroom/news/1999archive/07-99archive/k072699.html
"Overall, 34 men (21 percent of the male participants) and 36 women (28 percent) reported being recipients of one or more of five types of unwanted sexual contact. The study also showed that men who experienced unwanted sexual contact reported more symptoms of depression than the other males in the study."
And another study, in the Canadian Journal of Human Sexuality conducted at the University of Guelph shows the same:
http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/story.html?id=f926b44a-39c9-4c7d-bc44-24001f40c213
"A study of 518 university students found that 38.8% of men reported being pressured into a range of sexual activity."

These men who sought to remain chaste in the face of adultery are being pressured into sin by women and are becoming depressed as a result.
What can we do to raise awareness about this serious threat to men's moral purity?

To meet the legal definition of date rape someone does not have to be physically forced.

By calling it "rape" (which these studies don't do) you made it easy for these women to dismiss it.
The fact is men ARE frequently sexually assaulted by women. If a man grabs your crotch, it's sexual assault. Same as if a woman grabs mine. But no one has done a damn thing about it when it's happened to me, certainly not the condescending feminist hypocrites.
And notice, even though these articles WERE in peer-reviewed journals, the feminists poo-pooed it. The only legitimate research is that which confirms their holier than thou victimhood.
By the way, in my case, the girl said "I wanted to see if it was true about black men" after I told her to get off me. So it was sexual assault and a racist thing, but school administration didn't do a damn thing and I was told I should be flattered.
EDIT
read the articles if you want to know who the peers are.
And note the very first thing I said was that he misrepresented it by saying "date rape". I am well aware of the distinction and was quick to make it. Men can be raped by women, especially younger smaller men or men who are drugged, but it is MUCH rarer. Sexual assault of men is not.
EDIT
btw, I ALWAYS report it when someone posts a joke about rape. Most recently today with stale white male. I take rape very seriously.
Whichever feminist gave me a thumbs down for reporting MY experience is just a cupid stunt.
CANDICE THANK YOU
BELLA THANK YOU
And thanks to all the other women who haven't sold their humanity to their ideology which demands a monopoly on victimhood.

What a stupid conversation. First off, it doesn't matter the sex of the rapist...rape is rape. And yes, women can rape men, it might be more difficult for the average woman to forcibly engage in intercourse with the average man given the appr. 50 lb. weight advantage of the average man, but the standard deviation of human sexual dimorphism does overlap, especially when the male is not fully developed and the female is. Besides, physical coercion is only one of the methods a rapist can use to coerce a person into sexual intercourse against his or her will. The concept that rape is ONLY rape when a man uses physical strength and violence to assault a woman sexually, such as with a home intruder, has been debunked, and, ironically, this debunking was championed by the very same women's rights activists that now assert that male rape is not as serious of an issue because the use of physical violence is not as prevalent, unless of course if the rapist is another man in which case they could care less. Secondly, do you think a person who is raped be that a man or woman would take ANY comfort in knowing that their sex is raped more or less than the other?

In a dating situation I find it difficult to believe how a man could be forced into a sexual act with a woman against his will. I've been on dates before where I was pressured to have sex but chose to simply leave instead. I don't see how the women in those cases could have forced me into having sex with them. Most men, however, are physically capable of forcing themselves on a woman. I think this is a totally different situation, and I don't see a parallel between the two.
In a hypothetical situation where a man was drugged by a woman, he could conceivably be sexually assaulted. I think the penalty should be the same. However, how often has that ever happened, compared to men sexually assaulting women?

In one of the studies, "unwanted sex" was defined as a situation in which an individual's PARTNER became so sexually aroused that the individual felt it was useless to stop even though he or she did not want to have intercourse.
Let me ask you this: a man cannot have intercourse without some sort of erection, is that right? So, if he indeed had intercourse he must have been sexually aroused himself. No one forced him to insert his penis into the woman's vagina. He did this on his own. I speculate he did this because he WANTED to, he was motivated to relieve his own sexual arousal (even if he was motivated to relieve hers, as well) . I'm certain that this was, indeed, part of his decision, therefore, he didn't just have "unwanted" intercourse. He could have taken a cold shower. In fact, he could have stopped whatever play that he was involved in before he got an erection or at any time after. I can't see how he can say he didn't want to have sex and he only did it because of HER (and only her-) sexual arousal. I'm sorry, it just doesn't make sense.
Be careful what you buy into when it comes to studies like this. If you want reliable studies, look for studies that are published in respected medical or psychological journals- these are studies that have the backing of their professional community- a consensus of the reliability and validity (and objectivity) of the research results they contain.
EDIT: A "peer" reviewed journal is fine, but consider who the "peers" are. Are they credentialed professionals in the field they are posting in? Do they have extensive knowledge in effective research techniques? Or are they written by people who don't?
Yes, I am skeptical of the idea of women "raping" men. However, I do believe that men are recipients of unwanted female sexual attention or aggression. But rape and unwanted sexual advances are two different things. Women put up with unwanted sexual advances ALL the time, and do not go crying "rape" every time this happens. Men get unwanted sexual advances, too, no doubt...but this is not rape, in either case. I agree with the one of the posts below that says that rape involves a threat or physical force, and I'll add to that by saying an incapacitation of the victim.

ANY rape is a serious problem. I was unaware until recently how bad the problem of heterosexual men raping men is. But, getting guiled into sex is not the same thing as being overpowered, viciously beaten and brutally raped. To learn more about what rape really is, start by visiting your local police station and investigate the realities of rape in your own community.

Here's another piece of the first article that Brother Happy-the asker- did not quote:
"Physical force was used infrequently. Just 5 percent of the women and less than 1 percent of the men said some sort of physical force, such as having an arm twisted or being held down, was used on them when they didn't want to have sex, whether or not intercourse actually occurred."
Look, if someone makes a move on you and you don't want to, don't. Letting yourself get talked into having sex you don't want isn't rape. Rape is violence or the threat of violence to force sex on someone. Get real.

For some reason I feel their larger size and stronger bodies makes they more able to fight off an attact.
They have by their physical bodies 40% more muscles than women. They usually out weigh a women and are much larger. So it just seems to me that it would be very hard to rape one of them. I am 5'4" tall and my husband is 6'6" tall. He is clearly much stronger than i am.
In fact it would be impossible for me to rape him. Yet it would be quite easy for him to rape me. He never has but that is only because he is a nice man.
My only answer to that is if a man is afraid of that happening date a women who is much smaller than him so he has a chance to get away. Or tell her up front that he does not want to have sex with her this is only so they can get to know each other. So don't force your affections on me.

Yes, Men prefer not to talk about it they feel embarrassed. It is a very serious issue. It usually takes a considerable amount of time before the male comes forward, usually depression and a feeling of worthlessness sets in first and it takes someone else to recognize the symptoms.

You may also be surprised that men also abduct and rape men as well. These cases are seen as "he got what he deserved". Most of these cases are never reported to law enforcement.

I am hard pressed to believe a man can ever be "Raped". i am a man and just don't think it is physically possible?!?! And as far as date rape... really man, use some common sense and get some perspective. There are no stupid questions, just stupid people asking questions.
