I'm talking about people who report of questions and answers from sheer malice because they don't like the poster or because they don't like what they say..

Yes..I got violated when I apologised to PJ for something wrong I said about him and I asked for advice about how to halp get Yahoo to restore his Prashant account that was shut down by cowardly lowlife reportniks.

It was an honest question that did not hurt anyone..

Not much. I only report the most malicious and abusive content. As much as I'd like to see some people with whom I disagree get deleted, I wouldn't want to be a part of that.

not sure if anyone here has read the revised community guidelines, but it takes two or more reports before YA staff will investigate. The clue is - investigate. Neither questions nor answers, as far as I can tell, will be deleted if they are NOT fringing on the posted guidelines. One report will not end in something being removed ~ I think there must be more to this saga...

I hate when people run around and report people for little or no reason. Your question probably got reported because you posted something about a specific user. You may have had the best intentions but it is against Yahoo's guidelines. It's considered "personal communications" and "chatty".

I noticed your question got pulled and I agree there was no reason at all for it! I can't stand reportniks and am sure they do it because they feel bad about themselves and have no lives so sit here "bullying" people on YA!
I've had completely innocent questions reported as well--try not to let it get you down.

I report only individual questions and answers, never everything someone posts. And I only report personal attacks, "jokes" about rape or other violence, and blatantly racist or sexist remarks. And I mean blatant, not merely disagreeing on some policy question or factual claim.

Whoever reported you had some agenda that I haven't a clue about.

I had a person "turn me in" for answering his question about Nuclear Power. They sent me a nasty message calling me all sorts of horrible names and I was the one who got the "violation". I was so mad...I was merely stating my opinion and answering their question without resorting to name calling or harassment but this person sends me all this garbage and THAT is supposed to be OK?? Seriously!

It depends on the question i often report questions that are racist or sexist or simply insulting a religion. however if it is just something that i disagree with such as politics then everyone has their right to an opinion including dummies lol.

I am sorry your question got deleted I thought it was well put and very noble of you to apologize the way you did. It takes strong character to own up to a mistake the way you did.

well, some people deserve to be reported.

It happens to all of us, sweetheart. The best way to deal with it is to NOT care about points and status. You don't want to edit yourself, your thoughts, your speech and allow them to control you---this is because you are one of the most respectful, intelligent regulars on here and I can't imagine anything coming from you could be anything but additional value.
