Thats easy.. Movies today are more ethnically diverse they have heroes and heroines that are more racially diverse. Whereas in the old disney films the white "princess" was the hero and many people of color or ethnicities might couldnt have identified with these movies as easily.
Mulan, Pocahontas and these such films are a start of providing multiracial heroes and heroines into popular culture... and its about time :)

IF black parents weren't taking their kids to movies, I think it COULD have more to do with the fact that there are basically NO childrens movies out there that have black actors (children or otherwise) in them.. Dora? White, Aladin? basically white.... Snow white (no need to say)... It would really be nice to see more children's movies and programing staring BLACK characters rather then just the white character actors all the time....... Look at all the mythical children's characters... I've already mentioned a few but then think of things like SANTA, the EASTER BUNNY, even the THANKSGIVING TURKEY once he's plucked is white... why can't there be movies with a black Santa or a black Easter Bunny or a Black Cinderella.... I DO remember a movie with Brandy as a black Cinderella and I was glad SOMEONE thought to star a black girl in that role for a change.... things ARE changing ... I'm happy to see more black actors on TV AND in the movies... but now we should also make sure that there are children and adults of color in nursery stories and children's movies and other stories.... It sure wouldn't HURT anything would it?????? I doubt it...

I don't really know, but can perhaps guess a possible reason for this, & that may be that those of African-American ancestry in our country did not feel (until more recently) well represented in the entertainment industry; where "Black" Actors/Actresses were included in the many types of media-entertainment, and therefore did not feel compelled to attend when there would be no one like them to see. This would tend to have an alienating effect, especially on the Children in particular, as all Children are very impressionable at that young age.

I believe Black people like most races had a setback in past years because of drugs and it affected their communities a little more because the drugs were sold there first. I also think in later years that Gangsta rap may have helped demoralize the relationship between black men and their families and now 1 of the original big time gangsta rappers has done his fair share of childrens movies (ICE CUBE). The man(ICE CUBE) is bringing gangsta dad into the movie theater as they stop being angry at the world and start raising families. There are a lot more family movies aimed at the black audiences now as well ... barber shop, the nutty proffessor, are we there yet: just to name a few.

hello, initially, the place are you getting your information approximately Black mothers and dads taking their little ones to youngster's video clips? How became that information tallied? I question the source and how those findings got here approximately. If it fairly is definitely genuine, as an African American discern of a 4 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous, I question the form of flicks that have been focused on infants. i think of that the hot video clips that are out now focused on little ones are great via fact they charm to the two mothers and dads ("happy ft" has an astonishing soundtrack that fogeys and grandparents rejoice with and that that they had a great form of innuendos that adults have been given however the youngsters thoroughly ignored) and young infants. i think of studios have become it awesome now.

It's b/c we weren't represented in animation 10 years ago. Now you can find black voices and characters in the animations.

I personally don't think you can use the black race for this subject. I think you should get a deeper stereotypical subject.
