Sometimes when I wake up from a nap or a night's rest, I feel so empty inside. Not that I'm hungry but its kinda emotionally and physically. Mostly emotional. I just feel like crying until I feel better. I feel so depressed and sad like there's something wrong. But there isn't really a lot of problems in my life. They're just small ones. Example: I like a guy who has no idea who I am. I'm struggling a little with school. That's basically it. Other than that, I'm happy. It's mainly my heart. My heart just feels like its aching (emotionally). Then it goes away after an hour. Whats wrong with me?

Britney Spears has made a fool of herself publicly on many occasions. And for her own sake and the sake of her poor children, I hope this troubled young woman gets help.

But so much of the criticism of her VMA performance was that she was FAT!

My first though was, "Dayum! White folks is CRAZY!" Of course initial reactions and reasoned responses are different, so I now ask, more grammatically and without over-generalizing: why do so many white people think this way?

It wasn't just men. I've heard white women calling her a "stupid cow" or saying "her fat *** looked so gross".

Setting aside the issue of her choice of dress,

1, The woman has just had a child.
2. I doubt she was even overweight according to medical standards (which are a bit skewed anyway).
3. She didn't look bad. (Foolish yes, but not "gross")

Black women get bombarded with the same media images (and worse), but do not suffer the same prevalence of anorexia, bulimia, yo-yo dieting, and needing to be skinny.

All of us; most of the time seem to be aware of only the likes and dislikes of our minds, and desires of our minds; and follow them and work hard to fullfill them only; but how many times is it that; that we are also aware of the thirsts and hunger of our minds and work hard to full fill them as well.

Can we diffrentiate between them and know them seperately; how; and how is it that we can work hard to fullfill both.

After seeing a question entitled "why do so many young people embrace diversity" here on Y!A, i feel its my turn to ask this question: Why is the majority of the older white generation so hostile (and sometimes racist)?

I don't want to sound like an uber-liberal bleeding heart type nor am I politically correct, but honestly I don't understand why so many middle aged/older white people are still so racist and so hostile to other people. I know it comes in all races, and I do understand where some sentiments come from on some things (ILLEGAL immigration, the news, etc...) but seriously why can't they just accept its a different world out there today and despite all the shortcomings and generation gaps a lot of us "kids these days" (of all races) really aren't that bad. Its the ones who do bad things that make us all look bad. Yet it seems we're usually always looked at as delinquents and morons who know nothing (and treated as such).

Have you heard of her? Today at the Port Angeles "strait thunder" hydro races my daughter and I toured the pits and had the distinct pleasure of meeting nineteen year old Kayleigh Perkins: driver of the "Boat Electric"/ Victoria Express. This was the last race of her first season in unlimited lights racing- she ended this season with the honor of "rookie of the year", and topped the season in first place for driving and for team points! She's a petite girl, perhaps no taller than 5 ft. tall, and very feminine and very sweet- yet she knows how to race right along with the "big boys"- a force to be recockened with! I watched her compete against drivers who have been in the business longer than she's been alive...and how fantastic it was to watch her push her boat to speeds over 100 miles per hour- give them a run for the money! What a delight it was to meet her, to talk with her, shake her hand, and tell her she's an inspiration to young girls everywhere! Your thoughts?

Psychiatry is expensive and this is why I am here. I believe that talking(emailing) about your issues with a person who does not know you can help you solve problems. keeping things annonymous makes for honest comments. Does anyone want to here my problems. I set up a bogus e-mail just for this. I will be reviewing the responses (even the dumb ones) and then i will post another question titled "would you be my psychiatrist part 2" with further info. This may sound insane but I bet having someone disect my life will help both parties. p.s. I am not crazy. I am a family man with a child, a loving wife, a job and a college degree.

I've been wondering about this for a long time. I find myself sometimes respecting certain people (regardless of gender) more than others because of their appearance.

Of course when it comes to people who are disgustingly ignorant or people who are astonishingly stupid, I tend to see these people as who they really are. Also people who have an amazingly robust personality or who are incredibly smart find a way past my hamartia, which is a good thing. However, this isn't always the case for me.

I know that it's wrong, and despite my efforts to abstain from it, it's a natural cognitive process. I have actually come a long way from how I used to be, but it's still an existing issue within myself.

Do any of you judge by appearance instead of personality sometimes? Be honest.

A few years ago I was in an abusive and controlling relationship. He would hit me, curse me just total disrespect. The only reason why I stayed with him was because he said that if I ever tried to leave him he would kill me so I was actually living in fear. Well one day I decided I didn't care I had to get out of that situation so while he left to go to work I packed my clothes phoned my best friend and told her that I was coming to stay at her house for a while. Well I guess word got out about me escaping because lately he's been calling me from blocked numbers saying I know where you are you're not safe anywhere at anytime. And he knows where I work. I am just living in fear and I don't know what to do. I cry myself to sleep, I'm scard for my life. What can I do so I don't have to feel this way anymore?

The minute someone starts to get close to me, I start to act weird!! I set them tests ( secretly) to see how much they do like me. I will push, and push to see how much they will take before they leave. Of course 9/10 do. This then confirms to me that they did not like/love me as much as they said, and that I am not good enough for them. I have met a great guy, and do not want to follow the same pattern. I have spoken to him about it a bit, and he is understanding, but I feel if I could maybe understand why I do it, I may be able to stop. I do not want to screw this up, with me constantly wondering why he with me, when he could get someone so much better, and then almost testing his love for me to see if he will go? Any one out there understand me?

What I mean is do you believe that when a person is drunk they are more likely to tell you the truth or if people use that as an excuse to be more open and not feel like there being judged because they are drunk? Im just curious.
