All of us; most of the time seem to be aware of only the likes and dislikes of our minds, and desires of our minds; and follow them and work hard to fullfill them only; but how many times is it that; that we are also aware of the thirsts and hunger of our minds and work hard to full fill them as well.

Can we diffrentiate between them and know them seperately; how; and how is it that we can work hard to fullfill both.

Dear nad32h

QUOTE:
If you think that awareness only of self then I think you need to redefine the word.
UNQUOTE:

If you had read the whole question carefully and with YOUR OWN AWARENESS OF MIND ALSO; instead of with YOUR AWARENESS OF YOUR SELF ONLY; then you sure would know that, the question mentions about awareness of the likes and dislikes, desires, and thirsts and hunger of the MIND; and not of the self, as you had mentioned in your answer

It requires a great deal of awareness of a different kind altogether, which can make us aware and conscious about the entity of the mind and of the self; not only as seperate, different and independent of each other, but also as the single one in the self.

Furthermore you will perhaps also find it difficult to know, understand and realise that the individual identities of each of us is not the same as the knowledge of self about the mind of self and about that of the self '

We are truly neither the mind of self nor the self

Assuming we have duality ( which we all have) of our nature,we shall always have many thoughts which run counter to one another. This is like two people with opposing thoughts. Now,if we have a third person,as spectator, unbiased and uninvolved,He should be in a position to arbitrate or judge as to who is right or wrong about a thought or an idea, at a given point of time.If we train our intellect (considered superior to mind) to act as that third person,we should be in a better position to identify and become aware of our spiritual deficiencies and ways to fill that space appropriately, which you have mentioned as thirsts and hungers of our minds. Religion has nothing to do with this inner journey. It's also a way ahead of what we call as 'introspection'.As one proceeds on this journey,he keeps adjusting his mile stones to suit his progress and achieves broader and greater awareness. Most outstanding achievers have followed it with minor variations and adjustments but the basic Matrix remains the same. It's so simple that anybody can try it without any guidance as after a while the process becomes self propelled and self guiding.Hope it answers your question at the most basic level and we needn't delve deeper in to as of now.(thanks for a thought provoking question).

I can differentiate between them and you are wrong WE are not aware of likes and dislikes. Maybe it is you and the people you have met that gives you that impression. I am around people that think outside the box and simple is not the word of the day. We work on all of the other reaches of the mind. We try to bring it all together as one or one by one. If you think that awareness only of self then I think you need to redefine the word.
