This morning I was dreaming about my grandmother, it was like we were driving in a car my mom, sister and myself and we saw her standing outside just on the road as we drove by...creepy thing is..my grandmother is dead. She died last year. Then I knew that I was dreaming I was aware of my surroundings so I tried to come out of my sleep because I knew that I was dreaming but I felt like a very heavy weight like someone was on me. I could not breathe, hardly move or scream at all. I was so frightened. I could feel someones arm and someone was talking to me but I don't remember what they were saying to me. I have heard before from friends that this has happened to them before. Please no dumb responses. Has anyone experienced this before?? ...or does anyone know what is going on?

A psychologist once told me she knew of a psychological quality called "somatic identification" wherein a person can so identify or empathize with another, he/she can actually take on their physiological characteristics. EX. Supposedly, when Robert DeNiro played a man who had been in a coma for 40 years and woke up (in the movie 'Awakenings') a psychologist took his vital signs (B.P, pulse, etc., eyesight) and supposedly they matched the real life person his character was based on. It is supposedly more common in actors and writers for obvious reasons. I am an actor and did an acting exercise where I was 10-years-old in camp and writing a letter to my mother. Afterwards, I looked at what I wrote and the handwriting and vocabulary had changed in ways that resembled how I was then (without my consciously trying) I have also heard and believe (since I have ADHD) that people with ADD or ADHD are more likely to have it. Does anyone know of this 'ability' or something similar to it?

I know why I fear them. It's because I can't see their true faces. It's not like a mask, you can rip one of those off...usually. But with grease paint, you cant just wipe it away in 1 or 2 swipes. I've been this way all my life and I inevidably passed it to 1 of my children without him having any knowledge of my fear. Also, does anyone know a way to overcome this fear? Just facing them doesn't work for me I've tried that and I almost killed myself trying to get away!...LOL

I was on my way to an application and possible interview for a job; when this sexy gal, wearing sun glasses, entered the bus. She seemed lost in her own thoughts, but I am not sure, since her glasses were very dark. Before I left the bus, I noticed a subtle tease, everytime she turnt her head. Anyway, when I left I couldn't help looking at her, even though eye-contact is impossible in that circumstance and she seemed glad for it. Later, crossing the street, the bus turns to the right after me; and I realize someone is watching me from behind -still don't know how- and turning my head I see her waving me cheerfully through the bus window..

I thought of 2 alternatives : she mocked; or she meant she'd like us to meet next day, same time, same place; which is very common where I come from. So, next day I decided to "include" thet route in my schedule; and she didn't take the bus that day. Therefore, there was no point in what she did

Moral : Never trust any girl born in this country ?

Are you afraid of what you don't understand? There are people who don't like rednecks because they don't understand them. There are also people who don't like the Chinese because they don't understand them. There are folks who don't like the Canadians; because they don't understand them. There are others still; who don't like the blacks because they don't understand them. Essentially, are people afraid of what they don't understand.

We got hit by lightning and blew out a bunch of things. Since Directtv covered the cost of those replacements (yes, this is a plug - they deserve it), our total cost for replacing everything will be about $500 over our $1,000 deductible. We're trying to determine if we're better off eating the cost.

Our insurance office says we will have a claims surcharge of one point for three years. How do we figure out what that will be in real dollars?

During REM sleep, the dreamer tends to uncritically accept the chaotic, even bizarre details of dreams. In terms of brain functioning, what seems to account for this?

A) The frontal lobes are essentially shut down during REM sleep.

B) Only the regions at the base of the brain are operational during REM sleep.

C) The hippocampus and amygdala quit functioning during REM sleep.

D) Dreaming activates the brain's right hemisphere but not the left hemisphere, which is almost completely inactive.

Need help bad on this one, thanks!
