Yes. Let's say you are a modern scientist out on the rain forests. You found this bug that's actually have 10 legs and is red, blue, yellow, black, and green. You have no clue what it is. You "don't understand it". You're afraid of it, right? Well it's probably the same to humans as well. They don't understand the other people's potential. They're afraid that they might hurt them. They don't understand what the other person is capable of doing. Though this may be it's still not right for somebody to treat people like this.

True that. I'm unafraid of the Japanese culture, but my family seems to find their animation and ideas alien and strange. I find it's a new way to think. They're not afraid to dig deep down inside themselves to produce something amazing and, yes, sometimes weird, but most times it's simply exquisite and their language is thrilling. I am not afraid or disturbed by the differences, in fact, I pray I become part of the Japanese culture one day. I keep wanting to explain my fascination with it with my family, but, I've found, the longer you live on this Earth, the longer you have to think about things, and we are human, so we usually think bad things, which split us apart. Stay young and encourage others to do so also, or else you start... thinking.

Yes, they are. People are afraid of anything different from what makes them comfortable. There for-they're afraid of what they dont know. Its really kind of sad if you think about it. People are so afraid to open up and see whats on the other side of the fence. And if they see something or someone different, they geet afraid or uncomfortable, and automatically think bad or talk bad to/about it. imho.

Absolutely correct! (Do you live in Philly? I used to) The more I explore other cultures & try new things, the more I enjoy life. I highly recommend it to everyone.

A 'live and let live live' policy applies aptly in many cases. Why not simply wish them well, and go one with my life?

Yup fear is the biggie for most people, they fear change, they fear people who aren't exactly like them, they fear men, they fear women, they fear immigrants. So to hide their fear they look down on people or things that scare them, to make themself feel better about themselves. Fear fulfills a need to feel superior.
