Have you ever been dreaming and knew you were dreaming, but for some reason could not get out of it or wake yourself up?

I have (more than once) when I was younger, but not now. I would be completely conscious of the fact that I was sleeping, but I could not get my eyes to open themselves or get myself up. It was actually a little scary and weird… I of course, eventually got up after a couple of seconds or so though. You?

One of the interesting aspects of this site is the chance we get to see something of how other people think.
Apart from genuine misunderstandings, there seems to be quite a large number of members who actually resent intelligent Q's. & A's. It is as if they really dislike anything they themselves don't fully understand .
Is this attitude in anyway useful, does it prompt them to improve themselves in anyway or do they just see it as a threat? Is it some sort of defense mechanism at work?

its always basically the same. its a nightmare though. im currently pregnant, however im waiting to miscarry because my pregnancy is not viable.

heres the dream. im about 5-6 months pregnant and ill be walking. sometimes in my class, on the street, once down the stairs. and i always trip and fall forward! it is always very scary in my dream, as i shoot up when i awake and my heart is beating fast. i always fall face forward. now, i have not taken a fall lately. what could this mean? whats going on? thanks! :)

I worked for 18 years in Air Force as ground branch officer but could not make it to next rank for the reasons best known to my seniors. Whereas, I do qualify all my promotions exams and my seniors have been appreciating my work very often throughout my service. After this failure, feelings of anger, hurt and disappointment have crept down deep inside me with no recovery of this mental agony. I don’t have any skill to work elsewhere than a military job. Next year I would be forced to retired. This mental anguish keeps reminding me 24/7 that you are an incompetent person capable of doing nothing of any sort. At this time of turbulence in my life I am unable to fasten my seat belts. After one year, it would be a disastrous situation not only for me but for my family also. Your advice is requested how to get out of this psychological disorder and secure my future.

Did anyone see the guest on Oprah and his book about the test they gave people to see if they were unconsciously a bit racist?
The test had people sorting the words "good" on a screen to the left and "bad" to the right. It then had people sort white faces to the left and black to the right.

It then had people sort faces in a way that showed people having slightly more difficulty placing black faces on the "good" side, by reversing the direction faces would be sorted. This was supposed to expose an unconscious prejudice.
I know prejudice is a real thing, but my question is, isn't there an obvious flaw here? Didn't priming people to sort the face to one side create the slight difficulty in switching over to doing it on the other side? I want to see the results of having people sort black to the left (or "good") first, and then switch to doing white to the left.

Thoughts?

People were climbing up a ladder to this really tall building w/ "hells angle" like guys on top that were pushing everyone off. Ppl were climbing back up the ladder w/ casts & crutches just to get pushed off again! OVer & over they kept climbing back up!???

Hi there,

I am writing on a family member's behalf.
He has recurring dreams for the last 5 years.
He always dreams that he has an air flight but he is about to miss the flight. What might the dream convey?

As an additional info: In real life, an incident occurs on regular basis. This recurring incident is that whenever he looks at any clock or watch, the time is always 11:11. This occurs every second or third day. Whenever his eyes are directed to any clock, the time it shows is 11:11. What does it mean? Any ideas? Detailed explanations would be highly appreciated.

Why is it so hard for me somethimes .....
To wait before i speak or make a decision
Free my mind of negative thought or draining relationships
Follow my dreams without reservations
Not to be afraid of what my future holds for me
Why is is so hard TO GET OUT OF MY OWN WAY AND JUST GO WITH THE FLOW.
Im sure it's all normal but i want to do the very best that i can.

I am almost 16, and I am a boy. One day I was day dreaming (I do this all the time, especially when I'm supposed to be concentrating) and all of a sudden this old schoolmate came to mind, I don't know what caused his name to pop into my head, all of a sudden it was there. Then that night, well it could have been a couple nights after, I had a dream, I can't remember what it ws about, but he was in it. kill you, causes you permenant psychological damage''~.

thats what id change it to. i feel bitter and angry about everything ive had to go through in life........i dont wanna be ''strong''~ ive had no choice but to be strong, but i strongly resent what life and certain people have put me through
does anyone else relate to this?
i hate what i have been through, i have learned nothing, what am i supposed to learn through prolongued mental pain?
