My brother's 9 years old and always seeking attention for some reason? Why does he always have to have everyone's attention. If no one gives him attention- he'll annoy them until they yell at him or talk to him. Is this bad? I dont know what he can be insecure of- i can't seem to figure it out.

How can i make him stop seeking attention this bad?

well America seems to solved this problem with a little something called "Ridalin" But if drugging a nine year old is inhumane I would have to say beat him a little bit. Not to where hes black and blue, just maybe a nice brownish/yellow color.

It sounds like he's a normal 9 year old boy. When he gets bored he annoys everyone to get some attention & stir things up. Try spending a little bit of quality time with him each day. Just sit down and play a game with him or take him to McDonalds or something like that. He's a little boy who's full of energy and always likes to be busy. I don't think you have anything to worry about, just give him a little attention and he'll probably stop annoying you so much.

It is natural for children to seek attention. If you give them more attention, they will ask for more. Why dont you try to talk to him. since he is already 9 years old, ask him why he does that. You might be surprised on what he has to say.

But i wont agree that you would yell at him or what. If he has problems in the future, he might not let you know .

when someone seeks attention its because they aren't getting enough. Its common sense. And when they go for negative attention then they're really desperate. Your mom and maybe even you should spend more time with him.

Ignore him. I used to do the same thing when I was 5. Every time i would throw a tantrum to get attention, my parents would walk off and leave me to scream. I realized it didn't work, so I gave it up. He probably does it because he knows he gets attention from it, and likes it.

You can't stop him! My daughter, who is 13 has a brother who is 8, and he does us that way all the time, But, i'm his mom, so i make him go to his room till he can stop being rude. My daughter spends time with him doing things he likes and this seems to help alot. Talk with your parents & tell them how you feel about this. spend some time alone with him. GoodLuck
