This morning I was dreaming about my grandmother, it was like we were driving in a car my mom, sister and myself and we saw her standing outside just on the road as we drove by...creepy thing is..my grandmother is dead. She died last year. Then I knew that I was dreaming I was aware of my surroundings so I tried to come out of my sleep because I knew that I was dreaming but I felt like a very heavy weight like someone was on me. I could not breathe, hardly move or scream at all. I was so frightened. I could feel someones arm and someone was talking to me but I don't remember what they were saying to me. I have heard before from friends that this has happened to them before. Please no dumb responses. Has anyone experienced this before?? ...or does anyone know what is going on?

The thing is I wasn't so close to my grandmother because she has always lived in another country. We use to go visit her every once in a while. A year before her death she came to live in America.
Also, the dream I had about her was in the other country.

First of all there was a very precious moment that you have not taken advantage of. When you are aware that you are dreaming (called a lucid dream) you can CONTROL your dream. There is unlimited potential to what you can do. Since you knew it was just a dream you could have faced your grandma and talked to her (talking it out in the dream will get rid of reaccurrent dreams of her) or you could have done anything unrelated like fly or explore the dream world or whatever... Read this book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen Laberge. I suggest you learn about this amazing skill.

What I'm guessing, I think that weird phenomenon you experienced was nothing more than sleep paralysis. Usually you are unconscious in this state but sometimes you can be conscious when it is happening. It is a normal everyday experience that takes place when you going into REM period. People who have experienced SP while conscious have mentioned "unreal feelings" of being suffocated or hearing voices and other scary things. But believe me, it is just normal, your body is being paralyzed to prevent you from "acting out your dreams." It happens every single day but you are usually unconscious when it happens. Nothing to be afraid about.

Don't be freaked out. It has occurred to me earlier than. There is not anything that may harm you. It would had been a spirit consultant. When we're doing repetitive matters, frequently our minds open up ample to connect with that aspect of ourselves that's vigor. Most persons are too scared to open up, however should you simply loosen up and pay attention, you would be trained some thing very primary. A lot of the ladies in my household have desires that come precise. I have continuously had that. It doesn't suggest I recognise the whole lot. It simply method I get warnings approximately stuff. I additionally get flashes of know-how. It is not like a 3D photo. It is extra like a powerful impact after which my mind style of fills within the know-how so I can have an understanding of it. I listen the solutions to questions. It aid to grasp what's going on while I get burdened approximately some thing. I'll be looking some thing on TV and I'll listen the reply earlier than they are saying it. So do not worry the unknown. Great matters begin out that approach. My impact is that it's not a ghost or some thing frightening. I recognise that my daughter had a tender consultant till she used to be 18. For many years she noticed little blue lighting fixtures flying round. We found out that they had been her spirit courses. I capture them out of the nook of my eye frequently too. Don't allow someone make you believe you're improper. You don't seem to be by myself on this. But on account that you heard it, it method that there's some thing primary so that you can be trained. So discover it. Try meditation. Just begin enjoyable each aspect of your frame, even as you lay in mattress. Listen in your ideas and disregard poor ideas. When you think worry, unlock it. Fear is the brain killer. You wish to be cheerful and unfastened. If that's what you search, then that's what you'll get.

First of all, why would seeing your grandmother in your dream freak you out? Do you think she means to harm you? Haunt you? I doubt it. She's the same grandma she was before she died.

The meaning of this dream was just to let you know that she's still with you and she watches you sometimes, your Mom & sister, too, not in a creepy way, just in a "keeping in touch" way.

I have these dreams sometimes, and though Mom rarely speaks, her presence in my dreams is always comforting. I miss her so much!

Other times I have goofy dreams about non-normal stuff and Mom's in the middle of it all. We're children again and I hurt my mouth and no one will take me to the doctor and I can't find a phone to dial 911. That's just active mind dreaming. No significance at all.

You freaked out in your dream, just like any scary dream, and had to get to the surface of your sleep cycle before you could pull yourself out of it and wake yourself up. As for someone talking to you--if it were important, you would remember it, right?

Don't let this worry you. Sleep as though it never happened. You'll be fine.

Many of us were raised with the idea that death is creepy spooky, and should be ignored.
That's really not true at all.
There is a very thin veil between us and our dead loved ones.
My grandmother visits me ion my dreams very often, as do several of my friends who have passed on.
The problem with your arm is fairly easily explained, as well.
When dreaming, if we have a fear response, many times the body will go into a sort of 'sleep paralysis'.
