Are you willing to substantially curtail your spending, lifestyle, and consumption to prevent a world-wide catastrophe if it were proved beyond all reasonable doubt?

"It's beyond all reasonable doubt that carbon dioxide emissions contribute to dangerous global warming. Most EU countries have cut their emissions; the United States has barely begun. Unless the US does more to restrain itself, how can we possibly expect China, and other rapidly industrialising countries to do the same. What is to be done?"

Seems like the two should be equal, or heavier consequences on the verbal side... Wondering if it is such a good thing teaching kids to rip each other apart emotionally & mentally is "ok", but to physically lash out is bad. Realistically both are bad and both discouraged.

Women claim they want equality in all cases but is it true or no. For long women have fought for the right for sexual harassment and domestic violence to be against the law but at the same time want to do the same to men and expect them to take it and not report it. Two women fought for the right to work in the workforce but still want the option to work or not to work but have a problem with men not working. Three women want to be considered to be players like men when they sleep around yet they dont want the pressure that is put on men to sleep around and be teased if they are still a virgin. They also dont want to be forced by society to make the move on a man or flirt with him but would rather want the man to do it. So am I wrong or do women really only want equality when it benefits them?

He says that he gets obsessed over a thought, and cannot get that thought out of his head. If that thought is negative, his mood descends to the point of being extremely despondant, low, gloomy, and full of fear and anger, and, as he described it, 'half insane'. If that thought is positive then he feels energetic, busy, engaged and very up-beat, but sometimes can also suffer from some quite extreme delusions when ‘up’. This has apparently been going on since he was a teenager, but the delusions are relativly recent, and he feels that his state of mind has deteroated over the past 12 months. Any idea what he may be suffering with. I really would like to help him, he's a good guy.

Let us bear in mind that we want to maintain a "free" society. I am speaking as an American here. How can we help to avoid senseless acts of extreme violence, and yet still allow people to remain free?

For one thing, this is my proposal- we need to openly talk about our challenges. Just for a time, suspend your harsh judgment on others, and let them talk about how they feel inside. Don't criticize them, offer them encouragement to be honest. Our society frowns upon those whom are different, as well as the open display of emotion. Why?

Obviously, if it is taken to its logical extreme (rage, for example), showing emotions is a terrible choice. But the point is to help people (IF they are not beyond reach) before things reach a boiling point.

What a shame that we would be so cruel as to allow these things to happen.

We need to communicate honestly, and risk being vulnerable by telling people how we feel inside.

Do you agree or disagree?

"Every gun is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of it scientists the hopes of its children"

Everytime I want to start praying and exercising, I feel laziness on my part, and something trying to talk me out of it. Either that, or it says, do it later.

How do I start now, and have motivation?

Thanks.

was dating a guy for three months.. he was very into me, (called me day after meeting, asked for date next day,etc..) the few time we hung out i was my normal sweet self.. but i found out that my favorit closest aunt was terminally ill so i shut down. i never told him what was wrong, but i guess he stayed around hoping i'd be how i was before. eventually he said he couldn't take me treating him like that anymore and broke up with me.. i didn't call him for a few weeks, but then my aunt died and i sent him an email explaining i was acting weird bc my aunt was sick. he didn't respond right away so i flipped out and bombarded him w/text messages..(crazy i know) he never ever did respond. a girlfriend of mine asked him what was his deal and he said i was annoying the heck out of him with my bs. i know for a fact that he doesn't have another girlfriend, so he honestly was tired of me being rude/cold.

so why when i reached out he didn't believe me/respond?

I'm only 22 but I have an extreme fear of dying. It's not that I'm worried how I will die, its more like I cannot imagine ever waking up. I know that life is based on being born and dying but it's a scary thought for me. I've already set aside plans to be buried above ground in an above ground structure called a Mausoleum. It's kind of like a little house. The reason for this is b/c once I do die (even though I know that I will not know whether or not I'm underground) is b/c I am scared of being buried underground. I know this sounds weird but does anyone else have this feeling?

Okay so I feel like spiders are like in my house most of the time and when I see one something weird happens,Im so scared of them but I always see them.Like this one time I was in my sitting room watching this movie and something told me to look up on the ceiling and I did and when I looked up there was this spider going crazy walking around in circles around the light,so I jumped and when it saw me it stopped walking around so I thought I scared it 2 death or something. So I left it in there and shut the door.the next day it was still in the sam spot it was before where it stopped at,so I was like it cant still be scared it should've hid soemwhere or something so I caled my mom 2 kill it because I cant kill any nasty bug for anything, when she goes to kill it she told me it was already dead.So the problem is like if I see a spider it just dies or somthing, does this mean somthing.Someone told me they had a dream with me and spiders thats why im askin,im not weird and sry so long EWWWWWW
