I want to hepmatize my boyfriend so I can get him to change his mind about things and not be so uptight about things.

hypnotize is what i meant. i have tried to work things out. See he is 10 years older than me and is set in his ways so he really don't know any better and I need to change it.

You are best not to try. Leave hypnosis to people who are professionally trained.

You mean hypnotize?
Well, first off... the person being hypnotized is the one in control. He has to have vivid imagination and trust and willingness to do this, but his mind can't be changed about something unless HE wants it changed.
You should get a book on hypnotizing. I have one called "How to hypnotize with your eyes open" -- something like that.
You speak in a calm monotone voice and sink him into the hypnotized state by, perhaps, use of stairs. Have him imagine himself walking down stairs. Each one is given a number. And each time you say that he is sinking deeper... his eyes are getting heavier... he is getting sleepier, but will remain awake. Get him as relaxed as possible. By, say, the tenth step say he is completely under hypnosis and to listen to the sound of your voice. Then, appropriately from a book on the subject since you're a beginner, read off the passage that has to do with specifically what HE wants to have changed.

*Edit* Mark is incorrect. Nearly anyone can hypnotize and many people can be hypnotized. Not all - perhaps your boyfriend would be hard because he is uptight. You have to ask him if he wants to change and is willing to do this.

You should use persuasion with what ever he likes or something. Usually that works when im pissed or something and the other person says "all right lets go to Taco ball"! :)

You won't be able to change him -- don't bother. Even with hypnosis, you cannot make someone do what they wouldn't do.
