What is a fact? A nugget of information that has been shown to be true under all reasonable circumstances. The only things that can really be taken as fact are the fundamental laws of physics (note I said "reasonable circumstances") and those things that can be extrapolated from them (you'd be surprised at how much you can do this). What makes a fact a fact is it's repeatability: that is, if you perform the same experiment under EXACTLY the same circumstances you will get the same results. And that's a Fact, Jack.
There are also alot of questions on here that ask for people's opinions (I might argue that your own meets this criteria, since the number of factors involved in people answering based on bias and opinion are so numerous as to boggle the mind. More or less any question beginning with "why" will have an answer that is unsatisfactory and must then also be questioned with a "why". )

because we all have opinions and because of that we tend to only look for information that supports our opinions (confirmation bias). Facts are hard to find and involve effort.

Opinion is fine if it's backed up by experience. A lot of people just make things up. Just be sure you keep that in mind when you get conflicting answers to your questions.

Because people have their opinions and want to express them. That's what this forum is about. Just because you don't like the answer they still have a right to state their beliefs. I don't always agree with an answer either, but that's what this is all about.

I do agree that some people have no clue what they are talking about but really this is yahoo answers not Dr. Phil. There were no prerequisites for who could get an account and post there answers. If you really need professional answers then you need you phone book and a phone and you need to pay someone for their services.
