Long - Term facilities are for patients who need on going care and are expected to maintain the same level of disfunction or deteriorate. Examples are Alzheimer's, and certain cancers, and mental challenges. The life expectancy can be from 1 day to 50 years. However, professionals are needed on a regular basis to maintain the stability of the patient.
