take a look.
Half the world — nearly three billion people — live on less than two dollars a day.
The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the poorest 48 nations (i.e. a quarter of the world’s countries) is less than the wealth of the world’s three richest people combined.
Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.
Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen.
1 billion children live in poverty (1 in 2 children in the world). 640 million live without adequate shelter, 400 million have no access to safe water, 270 million have no access to health services. 10.6 million died in 2003 before they reached the age of 5 (or roughly 29,000 children per day).

as you watch your life quickly pass you by? Does everything feel like one big movie? For example, you explore different plots in your head as far as the direction you would like your life to go in? Are your ideas much more exciting than your reality? What is holding you back from making your fantasies a reality? For years I have felt like I do nothing but daydream and go through all these “fake” scenarios in my head. Sometimes it will be me saying things I wish I could say out loud to someone in particular (often though it is in my best interest not to say them aloud) or imagining what life would be like if I were a famous singer or actress. Such as how I’d deal with the paparazzi or what I’d talk about during magazine interviews or on late night talk shows. I know this is a complete waste of time and somewhat childish, but somehow I can’t help indulging myself. Just curious if anyone else does this as well.

Today was the last day of my school hoildays =] (2weeks long)

I'm in my last year of high school and I have very high aspirations.

I kind of went into 'chill out mode' over the hoildays. I did all my homework though.

I'm just wondering if there are suggestions of how I can get back into the work and keep my motivation levels up?

Thanks!

Hi - I am 21 - I have been depressed for a while but it has gotten MUCH worse lately - the worst i have ever felt in my life. I just started on Wellbutrin SR on 4/20 - 100mg one time a day. Today I slept all day and I am still tired - small things make me want to start to cry (and i usually never cry) - This is starting to drive me crazy - I can't even function - what can i do in the meantime before the meds kick in? I am already in therapy - but any advice would be great....I just feel hopeless...

Serious answers would be great.

thank you

Let's say I were to make a television commercial to catch your eye. Which one do you think will get the attention more.

A woman in a scantily clad bikini, with almost impossible dimensions, walks up to a counter with light hitting her almost as if to make her gold and "Let's get it on" was playing in the background, with her walk in slow motion. When she arrives at the counter she asks for a diet coke.

or

A guy runs into a 7/11 and unloads a fully automatic weapon at the clerk, who narrowly avoids the gunfire and reaches for a diet coke. The clerk beams the guy in the face with the diet coke can knocking him out cold. As the camera closes up on the can of soda, you see blood smeared on the side where it jacked up the gunman. Coke then letters up a new slogan, "Kick their teeth in with flavor!"

which do you think would stick in your head more, and which would cause more controversy?

When are these prices going to go down. When the war is over, when Bush is out of office, when the economy gets stronger than it currently is? When? Gas costs so much these days it's almost a liability having a car to get to where you need to go.Why don't everybody invest in the Gas companies and then that way, Hell we'd all get our money back from them greedy *&#)*$$_#(!

so you're pretty good, among your own types. you can talk a good game, among others who share your beliefs and status. you're a confident cat, preaching to the choir, until you step outside. now the tables have turned, and you're in the minority. your opinion is not shared by most, if any other people. odd duck out... so what do you do differently, if anything...?

If you are going from A to C:

a genius can go straight from A to C without having B, but I can only go from A to B to C, I need B.

What do you think?

My father is a Narcsisist and he is very hard to deal with. HE acts like hes entitled to everything in the world and just plain old mean....Not to mention he is a dry drunk.

I am 23 and living at home...I would LOVE to move out but that isn't possible at the moment. I need some ways to be able to tolerate him and possibly not completely hate my life or completely make my moms life miserable with constant fighting?? Thanks so much for your help!!

What do you all think about how pregnancy affects the female condition? Part of the reason (if not most of the reason) why women haven't created as many works of art/innovations as males in the past has been pregnancy/childcare.

Since there is little that can be done to change this on the whole as women must continue to have children if the human race is to survive, do you think this will be a major factor in constant inequality between men and women?

By inequality I refer mainly to things like the wage gap, inventions, etc. All responses are welcome.

It all started many years ago, I exited my room and pushed the elevator button. When the doors open (one passenger) as soon as I saw her I thought OH MY GOD! (sexy girl). I got in and said "hello how are you?", she responded, "Fine". BUT THAT WAS IT!! THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY PROBLEM! I do not know how to get past the first Step! I never get past "First Base!" PEOPLE riddle me this and help me out; HOW DO I keep a conversation going the next time I meet a sexy girl? (I find all girls sexy)

Obviously the Virginia Tech shooter felt in his mind that what he did, is what some people deserved (a massive group... stereotyping every Student in his head). In some wierd way it must have been "justified" in his head. He knew it was wrong obviously, but what do you think drove him to that point? How do you think he justified his actions to himself?
