I have been close to death twice. One time was when I was about 6 or 7. I choked on a cheesteak, but eventually my mom was able to save me. I was too young to understand what was happening and I don't feel like it majorly changed me.
The second time was actually a few days ago. I drank nearly a whole bottle of vodka. I didn't feel like I was so bad, just really drunk. It's happened before. But someone called the ambulence on me and I had to stay overnight in the hospital. My BAL was .3something. If I had a shot or two more, I could have been in a coma or dead. I still don't feel like I almost died, though. Even though people have been saying "You almost died. You could have died." I guess because I was too drunk to know what was happening. Right now I am just embarrassed by my actions and still trying to deal. I might get in trouble for this by my school, so right now I am more concerned with that. I think this will definitely be a lesson to me. It will teach me not to use drinking to solve my problems. I'll probably not drink for a long time. I try not to think about what would happen if I really died. I am fortunate that I survived, but now I just have to make something out of this. Instead of being embarrassed or depressed that I did this, I need to spread the word to others. If I can do that, then the incident won't be so terrible.
I am an agnostic. I am not sure if there is a God or not. I aiming more towards "yes" though.

Yes, I had a near drowning incident when I was 8. I took in a breath and filled my lungs with water, the whole thing. Passed out, but before i did, I felt really comfortable, and care free, like it didn't matter anymore. My mother found me and snatched me out, i felt terrible and was in the hospital for a couple of days. I was a shy child, and I was much more affable and outgoing afterward and have been ever since. I don't think it was Divine intervention, it was my mother LOL But it did change me, for the better i think.

Well i dont know if this counts as my near death experience... but when i was being born the umbilical cord got wrapped around my neck and nearly suffocated inside my mom.
heh what a shocker that would have been.
I dont thank god, i thank the doc that helped me...

Yes, a few times and I thank God for each day. I don't take good health for granted now, and when I awake to a new day, it's a bonus

I see it as one of those things.
My heart stopped beating for two minutes during surgery, but it was a long time ago, and I don't remember it.
I smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, and I used to do drugs.
