A while ago a university did a survey asking guys if they'd rape an attractive girl if they were absolutely sure they wouldn't be caught or identified (yeah a hypothetical question). A large percentage said yes. Do you think this study was accurate?(sorry I don't have a link)

Although I was an economics major in college, I can't figure out how the Czechs seem to artificially keep prices high here in Prague. A typical salary here is often only $800 - $1,000 a month, but a normal size bottle of coke, it is $1.50, higher than in the U.S. Clothes cost a fortune, way more than in U.S. Average casual shoes are $100 or more.

Even small, depressing apartments are grossly over priced. A tiny, two bedroom apartment (75 sq. meters) that is a 15 -20 minute tram ride from the center can cost $1,000 - $1,400 per month. It doesn't make any sense.

People tell me they are just catering to tourists, but I am looking at the same apartments a Czech citizen would. The prices are ridiculous. If someone has a rental property, they won't sell it because they can make so much.

How are they keeping the prices artificially elevated? There is not a shortage of housing here. Some apartments stay vacant many months, but the owners won't discount them.

I feel that I've been overly blessed. That some angel has accidently spilled blessings, and I was the lucky one below. I've had a great life, no illnesses, am content with what I have and seek no greater thrill than reading before bedtime. I have no debt, desire nothing I can't pay cash for, and know that the best is ahead for me. I look around and see so much suffering, most of it voluntary. I just be quiet, and re-feel my great luck, over and over again.

People without children do not use the public education system, other than their childhood which was taxed of their parents ( and is fair because the PARENTS should be responsible).... those without children who also earn their way without welfare consequently leave those resources intact, and should only pay taxes for what is neccessary to non-parents... highways, military defense and government employee wages to keep our country safe (Police, Fire, Administrative). We need to reward those without children with a tax incentive to promote restraint...thus lessening the burden of an overcrowded, resource-draining population exploding at the seams. Your opinions on a tax break for non-parents.?

I can't walk through a clothing store and see a piece of clothing that has fallen off a hanger onto the floor, and just leave it there. I have to pick it up. As retarded as it sounds, I feel bad for it. It deserves to be back on the rack and get its fair share of attention, not be stepped on and disregarded.
Why??
Yea, I know. Issues--probably enough to buy a pychiatrist a Porshe. I guess some things I'll never truly understand and I guess thats OK.

My boyfriend Kevin and I have been together for about 3 years since we were both 19.His best friend of 5 years, Jake and my best friend of 7 years, Casey have been dating for about a year now and we would hang out together a lot. One night 6 months ago we arranged for the 4 of us to go to this party and both my boyfriend and best friend couldn't make it so me and Jake went together. We flirted most of the night and ended up sleeping together. We felt like total **** about it the next day because my boyfriend pretty much worshipped the ground I walked on and my best friend adored Jake. We agreed to keep it a secret which turned into a 6 month affair that neither of our partners ever suspected. We probably would've felt guilty as hell if we hadn't had so much fun together and had the motto that you’re only young once. Two weeks ago we got caught and our partners went nuts. I've had my BMW keyed, the word “****” spray painted on my car, Jake’s car got bashed with a baseball bat and his tires slashed which my they’re getting the bill for. They’re being really childish about all of this and making idiots out of themselves. What is wrong with these people?

The U.S. Population is represented along the length of the football field above, arranged in order of income. Median U.S. family income (the family at the 50-yard line) is $40,000, or a stack of $100 bills 1.6 inches high. The family on the 95 yard line earns about $100,000 per year, or a stack of bills 4 inches high. At the 99 yard line, the income is about $300,000, or a stack of $100 dollar bills about 1 foot high. The curve reaches $1 million-- a tack 40 inches high-- one foot from the goal line.

* What does this graphic representation imply about the distribution of wealth in our economy?
* What changes would be required in order to more evenly distribute wealth? Would any of these changes entail changing the entire governmental or economic system?
