You certainly can change your attitude, provided you develop the Will power.Faith can move mountains, you know that. By positive thinking you will develop will power. Listen to the speeches and writings of great men. Watch those programmes that tell you to develop will power. Get up early in the morning and do some prayer. In the night also before you retire into the bed do some prayer. Banish negative thoughts. Pretty soon you will find a change in you for the better.

Attitude is our reaction to past experiences in our life. Be it bad or good it all affects our attitude. The learning process depends on the personal experiences the person has. Oftentimes attitude develops because our past experiences taught us that in situation or when people like this appear in my life this would be my attitude---that brings less tension, less problem, and bring results i expected.
Changing ones attitude requires another person's point of view. Attitude is part of our self which cannot see or just partly see. We need others to tell us our attitude, without bias or being defensive. KNowing that it is our attitude, one can start to rethink the effects, the judgment, reaction it brings to other people. If it is negative, then work it out slowly. Accepting you have an attitude is the first thing. Asking help is second. Doing and committing to change is third.

If you feel you are not that bad and as long as your attitude is not detrimental to others, why you ned to change your attitude? Everyone is entitled to have his own way of thinking and living. I feel we were borne unique and no harm if we remain unique. But, the borderline is: what all religions preached: do to others what you would like others to do to you. Rather, donot do to others what you donot like to receive from others. Recognise the other person's right to be himself inspite of your own preferences about him. This is the easiest way as i understood and practice.

Stop yourself from thinking negative thoughts. Literally stop those thoughts and reverse them. If you can't do that, then take some deep breaths, take a walk around the block or something... this helps you to think things over before you let the thought settle as being negative.
