Social Science - 1 April 2007

I'm 24 years old, I've had problems with depression and social anxiety for the past few years, but lately my biggest problem is being alone. I just can't stand it, I only have to be on my own for an hour and I feel unbelievably depressed and tearful for no apparent reason. I'm trying not to become "clingy" with my friends, but I just seem to feel so bad when I'm on my own - I really can't stand it any longer and I don't know what to do. I'm in tears as I write this because I've been by myself for the past 2 hours and I just feel terrible. I don't know what to do - how can I get over this? Because it hurts so much.....

I have recently been accused of "liberalism, excessive relativism and political correctness" , in the context of my objection to an anti-Muslim signature tag (on a medical peer support site!)
I can live with liberalism and political correctness but I am not sure how to take "excessive relativism". Doubt if it was not intended kindly but I would like to be know whether to be very insulted...

i am also geetting a minor in peace studies. I plan to get my master's after i graduate, but i am undecided what master program should i take. what program would you recommend? or would you recoomend to get some experience first and then get my masters. I study hard, work hard, and do things most people wouldn't do to get the job done. But whenever I get congratulated or people tell me how talented and a hard worker I am, something inside tells me I don't deserve any of this and why should I be proud to get anything. My birthday was the other day and the folks in my office baked a cake and made a big fuss I guess because they like me but I thought it was too much for a person like me. I'm usually the one who would do for someone else. When I was a kid we were poor and didn't have much and I was teased by kids in school because I din't have nice clothes etc. Whydo I feel like this? I get SO uneasy when I get thanked or told I do a good job. Any answers guys? Thanks.

From what I see it seems many people do not actually own that car they drive. Or that house. Or that TV. Or their shoes. Etc.
IF you charge it, you don't own it. It is technically the banks.
So, considering the average personal debt of $18 000 for an American, can we say they live in a "wealthy" nation? It's only wealthy for a few it seems.

my friends say i have one. i go by two names and they seem to notice how i change. one personality, im a nice girl and would do anything for anyone and my other personality, im so evil. half the time i blank out. i hurt alot of people and i dont realise im doing it. they also say that my voice changes. when im this other person i just get really angry and just want to do evil things. i dont understand it.

say for example a little child of opposite sex gives you something to an adult, would this imply that the child wants a "serious" relationship? now taking taking that perception into consideration.....

when i told a girl i know from work i got her a chinese new year gift when i was oversea's as a friendly gesture, she told me she already has a partner? i told her it was a new years gift not a valentines day gift so im not sure where the partner thing came from. she has not replied back.

if i was a child would she say that, not likely because a serious relationship is not in her mind of thought.

was i a "potential partner" to her at some stage for her to even have the thought of a "serious" relationship?

How do I ask a question about a dream I have. It is about I see my husbands and I go out of town for 2 days and when I come home I go looking for him. I can not find him and no one will tell me anything, until someone finally tells me that he died. Then evryone confirms this. But no one is saying his name they justrefer to him as him. They tell me he was swooped away in a water drain and was pushing people out of the way to save them and then he went under and no one saw him again. I would not take this as an answer so I went looking for him my self. At this time the water was one 2 feet deep,but after only an 1/2 mile the water is frozen and the hills are covered in snow. Then I see a streatcher with something on it.I go up to it and see a body liying on it and is covered. I pull up the cover were the left hand is and I see my husbands wedding ring, i kiss the ring tell him I am sorry I was not there sooner to help and call 911 to find out why is he there.
From there I wake up from my sleep and I am crying when I wake up, this has me so shaken up. And what scares me is that my husband is out of town working in New Orleans.
Please help me understand this!!!
