I know that some people fear death, & for various reasons. Whatever the reasons, they're valid to the person. I rarely think about it at all. In fantasy, perhaps, I'd like to live forever, just to see how things "go" & because life is so fascinating. BUT. Only if I could walk upright & handle my own cutlery! I seem to recall a question from long ago, about how one would prefer to die the least painfully (with the exception of dying in one's sleep) & I thought, hypothermia, on the highset mountain in white snow with clouds all around me. Such are fantasies. As for the people left behind, after the sadness of loss, at least for me--they exist within me forever, & my memories always make me smile. I suspect the "fear" is due to uncertainly about what will happen to us "after." I'd prefer not even to speculate. As to "emotional response"...to another person dying? Often, it is a "good" thing, if the person has been suffering. This recently happened to a very old, & loved friend whose last four years had been horrid. My first emotion was one of serenity. .

I am not afraid of death nor do I think it's a bad thing but the ones who remain are the ones who are always sad because they can't contact the person. I still often feel the need to call my mom about once or twice a week. It was a big part of my life. I doubt the people who have crossed over are feeling it was a bad thing. They're in a much better dimension now. It's just that basically, I guess I'm being selfish when I wish she could be back with me here and now.

I think death to most people is a fearful emotion because death is final. There is no more chances, you can not go back and correct a wrong. You realize you are not immortal. People wonder where are they going after they leave their physical body. Is there a heaven or a hell.

Death is the end of life.
For the moment i rather live to experience things. But there maybe a time I prefer to be become a death, when i have lots of illnesses and little friends. So i dont think blurp you can not generally say that death is a bad thing.

I consider death a bad thing because of fear, I suppose. I do believe in the "afterlife" but, it is just really hard to take in the whole fact of "going to Heaven" for eternity. That's if I were to die. I consider the death of someone else bad because of the pain of missing them. But, death is inevitable, we are mortal - it's just very hard to face that fact.

I think it's based upon the body you happen to be in now.
If your a retard, fat, ugly...etc What does it matter, All you really fear is the unknown!
However what if your in a decent body with a good life, why would anyone want to give that up! Even with life after death, you still only get one life in the body your in!
And the fear of what your gonna get next!

For me the finality of it is what makes it bad. All you have left are memories of the person who died. While those are great, there's no chance of making any more memories. They are out of your life forever.
I am not afraid to die, but I wish my family and friends wouldn't have to experience the pain and emptiness of me being taken from the Earth. That is my issue. I'm not trying to be conceited, but I know how I feel when someone I love dies and I don't want my loved to ones to feel it, but it's an inescapable part of life.
I do believe in life after death. But until we meet again in the after life, those left behind feel lost. (At least I do)

There is nothing to fear in death. It's just another part of life. As with anything in nature death is apart of the great circle of life.
Example: spring summer, fall, winter OR born, child, teen, adult, elder, death

I think it's both for most people, but others do dread the emotional response and don't actually fear dying themselves. When someone you care about passes away, we feel helpless and sorry for ourselves and the only people we cry for are actually ourselves, not the deceased.

i'v thought long and hard about that question...and i can honestly say i dont fear it(as long as it dosent come at the hand of another)...its the one thing left that no-one has a clue about...religious folk like to think they have a handle on it...but lets face it...fact and opinion are two diferent things.
iv come to say...if we all knew what happens after death...we'd probably screw that up too...
