I suggest adding some meditation to this list. Meditation relaxes you, gives you a sense of inner calm, balances you, and lets you internalize all of the good things in your life.
You may not be able to control the crazy things going on all around you, but you can still the internal waters as it were, even if for 15 minutes.

Do your best in everything and leave the result to God/ Fate.
Accept defeat as God's will not as your fault. Just learn to distract yourself from painful thoughts and count your blessings too. Many a times self sympathy or too much of concern for dearest n nearest ones is not necessary at all.
Sleep 6-8 hours everyday. Avoid stimulants like tea, coffee etc after 4 pm.
Yes, your own suggestions are good and pragmatic.

I can only handle one day at a time or I get very stressed out thinking of what's going to happen next week or next month. I try to look at this day and ask myself, is all well right now? If so, I try to keep that state of mind throughout the day. I realize I cannot change the past or see into the future so day by day is how I keep peace of mind and keep my sanity.

Honestly I have a short and sweet answer......lol! I rely on God himself, faith, and prayer. That's all that I need to drive me through these tough, crazy, and hard times......lol!!! With him you can't fail. And if you fail then it is not him lol for when you we take the bricks and carry them ourselves that is when the load is heavy. But as soon as we pray and have faith and believe that God will see us through all the stress just falls off because he is carrying the load!!!! Read the Poem Foot Prints in the Sand and you will see what I mean. Here is the link below. I live by this or at least try live by this theory everyday.

"letting go" of all fears of inadequacy... this is not easily done though... gaining understanding of your internal dialogs and what their importance is in how your react to your immediate environment will lead you to less anxiety in your life... these internal dialogs are your subconscious temporarily coming to the surface to alert you of past experiences that have affected your emotions in the past, either positively or negatively. What most humans do not realize is that the human brain is structured to respond to external stimuli(environment) from the negative part of the brain, which is quite a bit larger than the areas of the brain that control positive emotion. This negative reactance is formed to protect us via the fight or flight internal instinct that we are all born with.

I agree with 1st and 3rd answerers. You 'directed' the topic to your own conclusions. But, staying centered upon the top priorities in your life, with an attitude of both acceptance and caring works.

Good question but late at night for me. I think nature made us of the wrong substance. We should be made of rubber so that we can bounce back from everything.
