A few weeks ago I was working on a project and needed illustrations of heterosexual love. I popped in a million combinations of search words but easily 90% of the art that came up was gay art. Not pornography as such, but man to man or woman to woman love. Almost all that was heterosexual searches came up with pornographic sites. Is there a message here? I searched for a few days and finally chose work that was inferior due to lack of variety.
As heterosexuals, we cannot explore our sexuality because homosexuals may be "uncomfortable." This has led to the demoralization of society. We cannot celebrate men as masculine and women as feminine. We do not celebrate heterosexual love, the greatest gift that life offers us. The closest thing is that sad excuse of an overly commercialized Valentines Day! This daily denial of our sexual identity amounts to persecution. It used to be 'live and let live.' Homosexual behaviour makes straights uncomfortable. Most men find the sight of two men kissing viscerally repulsive. So do many women. Gay families are not the same as heterosexual families. The adoption of straight children by gays denies the children's natural instincts and will probably affect their psychological development. Heterosexual children need heterosexual role models. In 20 years these children will be suing the government for millions of dollars.
It is time to recognize that homo and heterosexuality are in fierce competition. The gay model does not fit heterosexuals and vice-versa. There can only be one model. There is a tv program on the US cable network Logo which can be accessed via On Demand. It is 'Out in Nature' and examines sexuality within different species. It seems most species are pan-sexual or omni-sexual, meaning they can and do have sex with both sexes. Emotional attachment to a partner is a separate issue.

If what you are saying is true, then we are all born to prefer the same gender that we are. That would mean that heterosexuals are the ones to be afraid of, not those who prefer someone of the same gender or who prefer both.
I also have read evidence that it is not a learned behaviour and that it comes down to the wiring in the brain

No, I believe sexuality is hard wired. If heterosexuality were learned behavior, we never would have survived a as a species.
Why some people are born gay and others born straight is still a mystery, but the evidence shows that sexuality is an immutable trait.

I think that is human instinct to be heterosexual simply because of the basic rules of reproduction.
