Social Science - 25 March 2007

Usually I don't remember my dreams, but sometimes I can "feel" like I'm sleeping and "tear" myself out of them. It's like a paralyzing feeling like it is really hard to move my arms and legs and is extremly hard to open my eyes. Really hard to explain, but I don't think its my biological clock beacuse this can happen anytime during REM sleep (if I actually am in it anyway). Also has nothing to do with what I eat or drink, it seems completely random when it happens. Just wondering if this happens to anyone else.

Why are people so rude today? What ever happend to compasion?

Let me just say to all of you people, I work and a grocery store at night and the majority of people don't even say hello. It is like we "working class" are not worthy of your respect. Well, let me tell you about some of us. We are smart people with feelings too! We have families to raise and bills to pay and at least deserve you to say hello when we say it to you. Don't throw your money at us or expect us to kiss your butts when you can't even look us in the eye. I am very smart individual who had a 4.0 in college and am a office manager by day. Don't assume we all are ignorant people, snapping gum behind a register. Some of us didn't have the means to finish college. So why must you be SO RUDE?!

I used to be a critic myself of people who say these kind of things but this has happened 2 times and has frightened me. I went outside of my house knowing no one was there and felt and severely smelled a puff of smoke in my face and looked around to see no one and 2 seconds later smell was gone followed by an extremely strong cologne again a few seconds long with no one there. a couple of months later same thing happened again.

I was dreaming last night and I awoke in a cheap hotel with my girlfriend who was a prostitute. The door was open ajar, and I went to close it, and locked it with three different locks(we had 10 or so). I was about to have sex with my prostitute of a girlfriend, but i woke myself up because i knew that if i had sex with her then I'd bust in my clothes and in my bed in real life. It was weird, because it was almost totally real, and when i awoke, i remembered everything. what does this mean? How are dreams interpretted? why did i have this dream?

My father died a little over a year ago from brain cancer. While he was sick with it, I was in England doing mission work. Five days after I came home to the states, he died. OK....so what if....

(I can lucid dream for starters so this got me thinking)

If I can dream a really cool life....and sleep for 15-18 hours a day. If I am only up 7-9 hours and it sucks...couldn't my lucid dream be more like my real life and my life is only a bad dream??

What if my lucid dream was so good that I got put into a hospital where I was allowed to sleep all the time? Would they let me...

I dream throughout my sleep. Let me preface this by stating I know about REM sleep and the cycles of sleep, etc. Doesn't work like that with me--not for quite awhile. From the moment my head hits the pillow I am already in an internal monologue, which trancends into dreaming.
I have woke up throughout the night several times dreaming a certain dream and it continues each time I fall back to sleep.
My dream life almost challenges my real life. I vivdly remember each dream. Most dreams involve family or friends in some capacity-some are romantic, some are of a same quasi-real place, many are of me on a mission to find something or be somewhere in a hurry. I always seem to be convincing someone of something in my dreams. Thank goodness my dreams aren't scary or violent, though many times the feeling is that I have to do something or there will be dire consequences. Bottom line is I don't get a lot of restful sleep. My mind never rests. Anyone similiar? Any thoughts?

I don't condone racialy motivated violence etc..However,as a realist,I can see how it may occur between a Whiteman & a Blackman,or Chineseman etc..Its always been something of a mystery to me why Jews seem to be on a different plane then the rest of whitemen(historically speaking).When it comes down to the nitty gritty,are not Jews of Caucosoid genepool?And if so,did hitler/nazi just not realize this?
