I used to be a critic myself of people who say these kind of things but this has happened 2 times and has frightened me. I went outside of my house knowing no one was there and felt and severely smelled a puff of smoke in my face and looked around to see no one and 2 seconds later smell was gone followed by an extremely strong cologne again a few seconds long with no one there. a couple of months later same thing happened again.

My experience is not exactly like yours.
About 2 years after my Grandmother died, I had a very serious breast cancer scare. I left the Dr.s office in tears and had a 100 mile trip back home. I was crying and feeling very upset in my car when I suddenly smelled my Grandmother's smell. She always had a beautiful, spicy-sweet smell to her hair and skin. I needed the comfort of knowing she still cared for me, and there she was, by smell, at least.
That moment meant the world to me.
Is it possible that someone you love and miss smoked and wore that specific kind of cologne? They may be trying to communicate with you.

Good luck

Yes it is possible. My man is far away from me right now but we have such a strong connection to each other that I have smelled foods that he has eaten. NO I am not joking. One instance I could smell fresh baked blueberry muffins and when I talked to him found out that he had eaten one the same day. In your case it may depend on several things to know whether or not to be frightened. Is there someone in your life that you are involved with romantically? Could be your soul mate.

Sometimes, spirits who have not crossed over use your sense of smell as a way of getting your attention. My cousin died on March 28th of 2006 and my sister swears she smelled her favorite perfume on the day of her funeral. The people who lived in my Grandma's house after she passed away talked about smelling food cooking in the kitchen (and Grandma was always cooking something).

I think it's harmless...but if you smell sulfur, start worrying!

Have you heard about remote viewing? It's taught in workshops! I think it was conceived for soldiers in special service. I've experienced it on two separate occasions, but wasn't creeped out because I had read about it before experiencing it. Forewarned. I don't like it because it's invasive, rude and the viewer is a disfunctional coward.

Lock your doors. If you have a stalker, watch for him. People whose loved ones die put a shirt or piece of clothing on the mattress so they can smell the scent. Be careful

Yes.

Our senses do play tricks on us. Although I cannot relate to smelling something that is not there, I can say that I have tasted something that wasn't in my mouth... salsa.

YES it is possible. I've experienced the same thing before. but it doesn't bother me or anything. Maybe someone is trying to visit you..(the unknown) but again, it's ok as long as they don't bother/hurt you..:)

If the person is not there, then how would you know that the person smells?
