I recently worked an 85 hr. Hospice Case for a lovely, 69 yr. old male patient. I love Hospice work because there is so much to be learned while holding the hand of a dying person and it is so rewarding. My patient told me on the second day that "holding my hand was like taking a walk with an old friend, I was afraid of dying until you came here." A comment like this is a gift and a blessing to me.

Well, i still haven't figured if this is the best compliment i have received... but it is the most unique and actually still baffles me so long after.
I was told I was like Lois Lane from someone who identifies as Superman. Ha!
I find that there are a lot of generic descriptives used to describe people... (nice, kind, friendly, funny, cool)
I like the original stuff!

I was told I'm always different. It's the best compliment if somebody says you change, it means you develop, you have something new inside your personality every moment - it helps you to live and to go ahead. It helps you to be the happiest person alive.

i have had my percentage of both, besides the indisputable fact that the single which is composed of concepts now's being called smooth, as a praise, and smooth, as an insult! smooth has a favorable meaning and a detrimental one, and definite, i'm both! yet I have this humorous little tale i could opt for to percentage. The be conscious "kawaii" in eastern potential beautiful or extraordinarily. that's usually used to describe little ones, yet from time to time youthful women. when I first got here to Japan, everywhere I went human beings were asserting "kawaii" to me, meaning "i became beautiful". i found it really stressful and once were given go; I complained to my chum. "i'm very almost 30 years previous! How can they say i'm beautiful?" He stated, "they say it to eveyone, only say thanks and overlook about it." properly, some days later, i became strolling previous a small puppy save. Budgies were in cages exterior the save, and that i peeked at them. the save proprietor, a center-elderly eastern lady, talked about me smiling at her birds, and stated "Kawaii!" at modern, I thanked her sweetly, and walked on. It took me a jiffy to comprehend what had only handed off! usually there is not any problem in eastern ... no need of "you" or "he" or "they" .... what the lady easily had meant became that the budgies were beautiful, no longer me! She must have concept i became completely off my rocker, and the most conceited, the vainest individual ever! i became so embarrassed, I never walked previous her save again!

more than once i have been told i exude gentle strength. as a teacher and then prinicpal i have always run a tight ship. i get done what needs to be accomplished but never with criticism; always with motivation and praise.
i pride myself that in 33 years in the educational profession, i have never raised my voice to a child, never publicly reprimanded a child, and have always encouraged improvement.

People have often said "they like the fact that I smile alot, even though the day was a bad one". Or even though I feel sad, or sick at the moment. I guess I do it to bring my spirits up, and so that I don't dwell on my problems. Plus I like smiling at others, to cheer them up.
