I have a friend who lies. These lies are starting to take a toll on our friendship. Examples:

1. He'll say the 1st thing that pops in his head even if it isn't the truth. (What did you have for lunch today? Him-Burger King. Me-Well why do you have a reciept for Taco Bell dated for today?)
After being caught, he still won't admit to his lie. He keeps defending it and eventually gets mad at you for something (why are you making a big deal)

2. He'll lie to get out of trouble.
(Me-Did you...?
Him-No
Me-Well why is...)
The thing is he can't keep up with his lies so the next day I'll ask the same question and he'll give a different answer. Then he'll get mad b/c I question him.

3. He says he said things he didn't say.
(I'll say are you hungry? He'll say I just TOLD YOU I already ate.) But in reality, he didn't say that at all.

4. His lies are usually really small, insignificant, and pointless. His mom and other friends know he lies but everyone just deals wit it.

Im quite sensitive and im easily affected by feelings of other people. Like Im in a good mood and when im talking with someone who is sad it immediately affects me. Even when i talk to someone who is tired i become sleepy too. How can i protect myself? Id like to help these people to feel better and smile but the reaction is opposite. Because i start feeling the way they do.

Somehow, over the last few years, I've become socially awkward. I feel very nervous in public places, awkward meeting new people and generally try to avoid social contact as much as possible.

I'm not even sure how this came about.

In any case, how should I get rid of this?

It's a catch 22: Being nervous and insecure makes it very difficult to make friends -> You cook in your own lonely and schizophrenic thoughts -> You become even more nervous, etc..

I seem to be too judgemental when it comes to other people's values. Somehow I have convinced myself, my values are of such high Value :) that I often show disrespect for people who don't have them- like people who are hypocritical or polygamic or offensive to other people. I believe that if they don't show respect to other people- they don't diserve any. Yet this causes me great discomfort as I am almost always at disconsent with smb. The problem is my feelings are so intense I can't usually control them - I end up falling out with friends and colleagues and this is hurting me and it is hurting them as well.
I know I' m not perfect, although i'm obviously trying to be ;) - I dont know why i want the others to have accomplished perfection....My expectations have sky -rocketed ...I can't place them on Earth. Does anyone have some useful advice on what to do.
Thank you ...

i think it is very wrong. testosterone has to do with alot of the reasons that men feel the natural instinct to get in fights, protect there territory, and feel dominent over others. and while violence isnt always the best approach it is only natural based on human nature. that would be like guys getting mad at women for menstruating. and while the mood swings are hard to deal with, men shouldnt get mad at women for it because it is only natural.

i mean when women think that are sophisticated and so above men and they are so much more reformed when they see men getting in a fight and doing something stupid. its testosterone. it a natural hormone. that would be like being made at a child for having autism. do you agree??

i dont think they should. but hear me out first. im not a sexist by any means.

the reason i feel they shouldnt receive praise for it is because i feel that women ARE equal in every way. and when the feminist movement go's out preaching about opression and talking about how women arent equal it reinforces and gives power to the notion that they arent equal. and thats just not right. if a woman TRULY feels as if they are just as equal and important as any man then why do they feel the need to have to call attention to it? an idea that is not acknowledged ceases to exist. do you agree??

I was standing by my car with my two ferrets. My husband was about to cross the road to get to me and the ferrets. Then I saw a beautiful owl with a fluffy white face and a brown body. The owl was flying towards the ferrets. I knew he was trying to snatch them up, to eat them, but he could not get them, and kept flying in the opposite direction of the road I was travelling on. (opposite direction my car was facing and I had been facing). For some reason, I still thought it was great to be able to see this bird. I was excited about seeing him, sensing that there was some good fortune because I saw him. I pointed it out to my husband as it was flying away, and he didnt see it at first, but eventually did. I told my husband it was a "snow owl". I did not know that such an owl existed until after I awoke... I asked my husband if there was such thing as a "snow owl" and he told me that there was and it was called a snowy owl. What does this mean?
