The tick is actually random muscle spasms, but I'm getting that under control. The smile, well, it feels good to be getting a hold on that muscle spasm problem.

Hi nendlin!

I'd like to answer this in two parts, please.

What "makes me tick" is the knowledge that I was put here to help others, that I can can still contribute positively, even despite being disabled.
A kind word, exhibiting manners, giving that sought-after Bible verse or honest advise (that truly makes common sense), that not only helps a person "maintain" but to "grow" as well.
Being that role-model and example of "a gentleman and a scholar".
To instill hope that was formally shattered; to give knowledge and understanding to those who seek it.
Being "a part of the solution" as opposed to contributing to the problem.
-
What makes it worth while, is seeing that "wide-eyed wonder" when "they get it".
To have someone come back, sometimes years later and saying, "y'know Doc, I thought about what you said/did and it changed the way I think/feel about [subject] and it woke me up to the fact I [whatever]".

And having people enjoying my latest musical composition when they hear it, is merely the "whipped cream and cherry on top", because it's then, that I feel I am doing "God's Will", as directed...

Peace, Love and all that good Happiness stuff,
Von§

When u succeed in doing something u always wanted to n finally achieve it. When u see ur beloved ones happy n people appreciating ur work. When u go down memory lane and realise the things that u did, like getting mad at somebody who just cracked a joke, were actually so funny n wonderful, u cherish them whole ur life. All these moments bring smile to my face n make me feel that life is beautiful n I should cherish each n every moment I m rewarded with.

When my baby daughter gives me one of her gummiest grins - that makes me smile (and gives me a lump in my throat!) and it makes me realise that the 5am feeds and the screaming fits are totally worth it.
