Teachers seem to think they are the most underpaid in the world. The problem is that they are not individually given raises. When they get raises it is done for the entire group. So the bad teachers get raises along with the very good ones. I think that's unfair. Daycare workers are the worst paid. They barely make above minimum wage, but are in charge of babies and toddlers which is the most impressionable age. I don't think people realize how important this job is. They are raising children for parents, how much more important can you get? (never been a daycare worker or put my child in daycare, this is a completely objective opinion).

Teaching. Teachers work incredibly hard and don't receive the recognition they deserve for shaping young lives in such a positive way. I know there are some out there who aren't the best, but that occurs in every profession. I am not aware of too many professions where people are required by law to work through their unpaid breaks (playground duty at morning tea and lunch breaks, etc.) and where they have to wear so many hats - social worker, psychologist, shoulder to cry on, disciplinarian, pseudo parent, etc. And THEN, any problems in society are blamed on schools!
Anyway, sorry about the soap box, hope that answers your question!!

That all depends on your lifestyle. Everyone thinks theyre underpaid. Teachers? Firemen? Police? They are paid sufficiently in my eyes. I mean, city school teachers dont usually teach, they babysit, Firemen get paid to work 3 days on, 4 off out of a week. Poilce are corrupt (because they get paid crap), despite the good ones, they alllow it. Everybody wants to be all lovey-dovey after 911, Remember theae people arent saving lives every second of everyday. If you dont think there paid enough take it up with doctors, at least there on call.

The president should make more money though. 200k just isnt enough anymore, thats why were getting the service were are :)

Teachers should be paid more - they're expected to do so much.

If they had a more attractive salary then maybe more talented people would want to teach!

Teachers. They educate tomorrow's future leaders and compared to most professions, they don't make anything!
