Well All My Life I'v Wondered Why We Learn All this Other Stuff When All There Is To Know And What We Should Know Is Math And Science. Why Do We Waste Time With The Other Subjects, We Could Make The Future So Much More Interesting And Advanced If That Was All We Did. Think About It???

"In 2002, Annie, an 80-year-old, is telling her granddaughter Suzie about the good old days. She says that in 1932, when she was a child, you could buy a nice house for $15,000 and a jacket for $5. Suzie looks up some current prices and finds that a house that costs $200,000 and a jacket that costs $50 are today's equivalent of the ones that Annie says cost so little when she was a child. Suzie, an economics student, looks up the CPI for 1932 and discovers that it is 13.7. The reference base is 1982-1984. The CPI for 2002 is 180.3. "

I came up with this for the inflation rate:

From 1932 - base year, inflation rose 86.3%
From 1932 - 2002, inflation rose 1216%

Is that right or did I do something wrong? I need to find out what the lower cost was for those years.

As a sociology experiment, I want to wear something in public that is bizarre and outside of the societal norm, and that will catch peoples' attention. Nothing illegal or overly sexual. For example I was thinking about wear a simple white eye mask in the mall but I believe that is illegal. So...any suggestions along those lines?

Other than the obvious sexism and reverse discrimination that this is based on, can anyone offer a decent explanation?

To a certain end? // Or just the end?

(1) Are we purposefully deciding our destination as a human race or just blindly headed toward an unknown fate?

(2) Do you care where we a headed socially and mentally, do we care as (your opinion) species world wide?

(3) To what end do we "Do" to simplify or to complicate our existence.

(4) Is united purposeful direction of the worlds people, forsaken to appease unconcerned and socially asleep?

(quoting from someone's answer I seen earlier)

When someone endures a great sacrifce or stands up to a threat on behalf of another, it is hard not to love that person for it.

Someone stood up to a threat for me and while they were busy doing that I fell in love with them.
Is this the wrong reason to base a relationship on?
could it be anything else other than love?

Funny thing is this person spent alot of time helping me......
two years now....and now my "threat" is no longer a threat
but without his help I would most likely be dead by someone else's hand or suicide.....
met him online and never met him in person....

Hello , I am 23 and I recently got out of a 3 year deppression , I am feeling good: Going to the Gym , go out to meet new people, and so forth........

But suddenly it is something inside that pulls me and makes me feel very weird, for example today I am going out to have fun and it has happened to me that when I go out like I am feeling right now , It only makes me feel kind of down , If I stay home it will be worst.Right now I am doing compulsive things that is transmitted by anger like: If i feel mad ,suddenly i hit at the door or things like that...
I decided to call a friend drink some beers, and hang out ......

I want to know how can I let myself feel better right now , because is only a momentary moment when i feel this way , but it kind of keeps me down ....

Guys I don't know what it is, maybe you could know.
I had a strong discussion with a very loved one. My heart started to beat in a way that it was able of moving my t shirt and my jacket. The beating was moving those!!
Then I went out to walk and felt really bad. I had wishes to die and thought about going over the street so a car could hit me but I dropped the idea because I don't want to screw up someone else. Then I saw something useful to hurt myself, to cut myself...I was about to do it but I dropped the idea...now I feel really sad. Should I look for help?
I don't know what to feel.
Please don't be mean at me.

I have emotional breakdowns when I see things that deal with childhood, parenting, family, and things of that nature. My dad did leave when I was 9 and my mom and I do have a good relationship. I'm 22 now and I have a good life, I am not depressed. I just have these feelings of guilt, regret, slight hopelessness, and total sadness when I come across these subjects. What is this? I am easily bothered and normally melt down once I can get by myself for a few minutes.
What is this? What can I do about it? I don't understand it.

A SKETCH IN BBC ONE COMEDY LITTLE BRITAIN WHICH SHOWED A WOMAN URINATING UNCONROLLABLY HAS BEEN CRITICISED BY AN INCONTINENCE CHARITY.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4460876.stm

"People with incontinence are often ridiculed, but it is not a joke, and the condition can be life-destroying for many older people."

Here is a disgraceful UNFUNNY clip:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xs1kgFFrfUI

One half of women suffer from incontinence at some point in their lives and one third will develop a "problem".

IT IS NORMAL PEOPLE.

Why are women being laughed at for something that is normal?! Do men just need to get over this, just because patriarchal beauty standards involve a woman that has control of her bladder (what some sixteen yr old?!) it doesn't mean that incontinent women have a problem.

Is this sort of joking about non-conformity to what men want just bullying women into accepting the patriarchy?
