I've NEVER had a fear of flying or heights. It wasn't until I went on a ride at a theme park that I was 'traumatised' with the feeling of falling from a great height. It was almost instant. I was just wondering if there was a quick way of getting over this fear, as fast as when I had experienced it from the ride. I plan to go overseas later on in the year and I'm terrified with the way I'm going to react when the time comes.
please help!

Person one is a young girl who regularly gives blood, does a lot of volunteer work that benifits young children and is always mindful that people see her as a good person. She enjoys clubbing and has an incredibly active sex life, often commenting over lunch with her friends on who she's screwed or pleasured recently.
Person two doesn't really like people and in fact never really lets anyone close to himself because he thinks he is a bad person and might hurt someone. Therefore despite being a twenty something like the other person he has never had a girlfriend and is still a virgin. He is regularly "off" with people for fear of getting too close.
Now here is the question - who is the better person? Or who is the worst person out of the two? And before you start asking is this you or people you know they are base elements of characters I'm trying to write about in a story/script and I'm interested in a response. So please let me know what you think.

War and violence are not very efficient ways to solve problems. But we love all the cool technology used in war, right? But with the rising standards of living through more open trade, we can share more technology for better farming etc, etc.

My boyfriend is a big liar...or was? He the kind of person that prefers to hide something before getting in an argument with the one he loves (me) or anyone else. He has so many things hidden. I hate him for being like that. I've also learned to cope with him....what else can I do? I've been with him for 5 yrs.... is it too late to go back and say "oh sorry your a liar and I just realized that, bye!"? I knew he was a liar since the first week I met him. Will he ever be a better person and not lie? or will he just find better ways to make me believe he is not lying?

Rain maker and Rain stopper
I know this person people believe he has a power to stop rain or to bring a hell if you make him mad. When people have an out side event in the middle of rainy season they pay this person and can hold the rain until the even over and the rain drops as soon as the even over. But one time a person who has a similar skill moved to this town and the two people becomes compotators and people start paying for this people. Some time people just forgetting to pay the new guy and the old complain had a hard time to hold the rain as he would like to do it for long time because the new guy is upset he did not get paid and he wants to bring the rain instead of holding it. During such event the old guy works hard but the new guys power some time won and brings the hardest rain and hell ever seen. Like to revenge and to show his power.

One time the farmers crop was damaged by hell and they bought it to the guy and they beaten him hard because he was paid to sto

My step-daughter was taught at a very young age by her obese grandmother to horde and sneak-eat candy bars so her mother would not see. She is now 12 and since I came into her life 3 years ago, her mother and I have been in a constant battle with this behavior. We have taught her the benefits of eating properly. We have told her that she should be comfortable in asking us for candy, cookies and other sweets. We just noticed her sneaking a whole box of cookies. We have not said anything to her yet. The grandmother has been told, but that will not stop her from shoving sugar down this kids throat. We are about to move far enough away to prevent frequent visits, but we know that when she will visit that all of our teachings and pleadings go out the window. Removing all sweets from the house only increases the intensity of the hordeing when she is around sweets. And she craves any food with sugar. I watched in horror 3 yrs ago when she ate 4 slices of dry bread. Each slice had 4grs of sugar

My grandmother and I were very close. I was semi-raised by her, and I credit her with instilling me with everything good in my life. She was a major influence in my life up to her sudden death of heart failure in 2000.

After her death, my life took a drastic turn from successful to a complete failure. Without my "guiding grandmother light" I felt helpless and unable to deal with life itself.

In 2005, on the 5th anniversary of her death, I laid in bed next to my second wife. I had drunk myself to sleep as usual, and since I had nowhere to be the next day (unemployed) I planned on doing the same when I woke up.

That night I was visited by my Grandmother. She spoke to me, comforted me, and admonished my behavior in life since she had died. We had a very long conversation, and finally I was able to forgive her for leaving without saying goodbye.

The experience was very real. I know it was her, and not a dream. Anyone else have an experience like that?

And what psychological mechanism causes somebody to have their sense of priorities wrong?

2007-02-23 01:53:34 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous in Psychology

I know lots of women who have held off on having children as they chose to become Doctors, Lawyers etc. Many of them procrastinated too long, and now cannot conceive. For those that do have kids, it's often just 1 child.

Meanwhile, low income people are having children by the dozens. So, what are the future generations going to be like?
