I forgive myself by knowing that I've learned from whatever mistake I've made, and having the new-found knowledge that I'll never make the same mistake again. Treat it as a learning experience making you wiser and therefore stronger.
Also, take a look at all the famous people in history who have made terrible mistakes, but have bounced back later. We are all fallible.

I always remember that it is impossible to live your life without making some mistakes. I also live my life with the determination of having no regrets.

I believe that if I feel I might regret a decision, then I have to go the other way. This helps me to say that I tried something and if it does not work, I do not regret trying it. If I had not tried I simply would not know if it would have worked.

The other important thing that I do is to think things out. If you play Chess you know that you always have to think at least five moves ahead. The best Chess players actually look as many as fifteen moves ahead. I am not able to see that far ahead, but the farther ahead you can see the better your decisions will be.

Look at any decision as a chance to succeed and then try to figure out how best to make that decision successful. Choose the option that has the greatest chance not just of succeeding, but also of being a good decision.

A simple example would be a project. You can build something cheaply and have to rebuild it or you can build it inexpensively and have something that did not cost a lot and will last. Life is full of such decisions. Think before you act.

One more thing that I do is to think about how my actions affect other people. If I think that I could hurt someone else physically or emotionally than that is not a good decision. I determine whether my actions could hurt someone by thinking about how saying or doing something would affect me.

Take care,
Troy

Maybe there's something else that's keeping you thinking about those mistakes everyday and it's hard for you to move past them. It may be possible that you may be suffering from depression. A therapist can not only help figure out if that's the case but can also help you find the reasons why you're struggling to forgive yourself. Make an appointment, you have nothing to lose....

The past is gone....you can't bring it back or change it. If you feel the need to make amends with someone do it. Other than that let the past go. We are all human and every human alive has made bad decisions and mistakes. These are for us to learn from. Learn from the mistakes you've made and live each day as it comes. Today is all that really matters. Be the best person you can be today and live your best life going forward.

A lot of times, it takes time to forgive yourself. Maybe you shouldn't think of it in those terms. What you need to do is accept the things that you have done in the past. When you accept that you have made mistakes, and decide that they were just that, mistakes, you are taking the first step.
You will never be able to go back, so try to get that thought out of your head; it will do you no good. You have to decide that you will try not to repeat those mistakes, and not to give up if you do fail at first.
A wise man once said "If you have foot in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow, you are pissing on today." Remember that.

Think about this........we all make mistakes. And we all make decisions we'd make differently later. But....You make the best decision you can at the time with the knowledge you have at that time. We change through out our lives. What you think is important today, may not seem so important down the long, difficult, exciting road we call life. THINK..... you made a decision based on where you were in your life at that time. You are at a different place now........It's just the passage of time...It really is all going to be ok.

The way I get past mistakes is talk to people get it off my shoulders and you just really have to move on cause you can't dwell on the past or you will make more mistakes. Look at what you did and see how you can better yourself from it and make sure you don't make the same mistakes twice! Good luck!

Well, to eaches own. But I always ask God to forgive me. Then I ask him to take away the condemnation you cannot walk around under condemnation it will eat you up (consume). If you're offense was against someone else then ask them to forgive you. If you find they won;t well that's between them and God because if we have true repentance then it should cover all. I know because I'm dealing with forgiveness now or shall I say unforgiving. I can't forgive my mother for being sooo sorry when i was small. It has consumed me and as long as I feel this way she's in control of my life. Simply because she dictates how I feel and how i act.
I pray this help you.
You have helped me I know. thanks

Someone else on here asked the same thing. Pay a small pennance and we'll promise to forgive you. Torturing yourself is punishment enough though. Let the past stay where it belongs and move on.

you have to forgive yourself.i to am very sad at the moment my mistakes have cost me everything i had and also the live of my unborn baby but i know it wasnt all my doings and i know that at the time i behaved in a way that was because of everything else that was happening. We cant live for what ifs and buts.
if you have hurt or upset people then you need to tell them you are sorry then at least then then you will know you have done your best. even if it falls on deaf ears. try and learn from it and tell yourself that you have learnt from it and things will get easier
