If you actually DON'T believe in ghosts, then you might at least have some fear over supernatural stuff (everybody does!).
Thing is, your coincience might lead you into thinking about some scary stuff you might have seen on TV and you have done the same thing (like moving to a new home).
You have those eerie thoughts at the back of your head. Just relax, forget about your fear, and it will slowly go away.
May I suggest someone moving in the same room with you for a start?
Nothing better than experiencing something wild with a partner! (Not that I'm saying there IS anything wierd)

The problem with nightmares is that you can't necessary control them. Sometimes they feel so real and something in the room could make it feel real. For instance, one night I was woken out of a deep sleep because I thought the house exploded. It was so loud and so scary I was sweating and crying at the same time. I couldn't move. Then I looked around the room and I noticed a statue I had fell over. Thats what caused the loud noise. Since I was in a deep sleep, my mind automatically assumed the worst, an explosion had happend. Perhaps there is something in your room that is giving you this vibe, maybe a doll, a pet or something? I don't doubt the option of it being a ghost, it could very well be one however search your room first.

A similiar event happened to me in college. I was asleep and I felt as though someone or something was pinning me to the bed, I could not wake up. I could feel myself struggling, and trying to cry out, but only gutteral moans and groans came out. I tried reaching for some Catholic medalions my mom had given me, once I had them in hand, I snapped awake and looked toward my roommate who was in the bed next to me. He had this evil sinister grin on his face. I asked him what was that, and had he seen anything. He just continued to smile creepily.
So, yes, I think you do have a ghost. Perhaps the room only, have you tried sleeping in other rooms? Have you noticed any weird or strange things when you are not asleep? Are you alone when this stuff happens? It may be an object in the room as well.
You can try several things, if religious, you can try to excorsize the spirit. Do you feel comfort or unease, when you have these dreams? Since, judging by your account of the events in your "dreams" it is the lader, it may not want help from you at all, and you have disturbed it somehow.
If you are not religious/spiritual, do what ever you feel would help you cleanse your surroundings and make them yours. Eventually the dreams will cease.
Have you had similar occurances prior to living there?
After all of this, it may just be a dream, an anxiety induced dream. You should feel the difference.

It's a dream honey, don't worry.. There have been researches on this and the results show that this is happening due to some problems during sleep... I think you should refer to scientific studies you can find on this and maybe see a doctor who treats sleeping problems..

It is dreams, that's all, if it wasn't, you would've been able to call your flatmate. There are no such things as ghosts! In the Yahoo! directory, there is a dream analysis facility.

I would try and look up the history of your house (people who lived ther before, and maybe died there) to see if there is any connection with them AND your dream. Someone may not have left.

I'm no expert , but I am sure that it's easier for ghosts to contact you when asleep.....get over your fear and find out what the ghost wants.....it could be important.

You have a ghost. It's not a dream. Face up to it and be brave.
