If you are not happy today, chances are when you drink you will feel worse, especially if you are alone. Try chocolate instead! It releases good endorphins without the hangover!

I say no. Why start drinking now? If you've never been drunk then keep your innocence in that area of your life. Alcohol makes different people act different ways. I've witnessed happy drunks, mean drunks, sad and depressed drunks, crazy drunks, totally uninhibited drunks but one thing I know for sure I have never seen a drunk in control of themselves. The alcohol controls them.

NO! Do not drink alcohol when you are feeling sad, as you will only feel worse. Especially gin, which is a depresant.
Alcohol will only make you feel happy if you are already in a happy frame of mind.
If UR feeling sad why not put on some of your favourite music, go for a long walk, buy some flowers - but please don't turn to alcohol. This is the worst idea when you are sad!!

Alcohol contains ethanol which is actually a depressant!
It does effect mood and really depends on what mood you are in at the time. If you are depressed, then don't expect alcohol to make you feel any better, if anything you will feel worse. If you are feeling in a good mood then it can enhance this feeling and make you feel more ecstatic and then gradually drop your mood down.
So in summary, I would not advise you to have a drink as it will probably make you feel even sadder. You would be better off taking to a friend or going to watch a funny movie to make you feel happier. Or email me, I'll make you laugh!

Because drinking makes people feel relaxed, happy and even euphoric, you may find it surprising to learn that alcohol is in fact a depressant. It switches off the part of the brain that controls judgement, leading to loss of inhibitions.
BUT BUTBUTBUT
Alcohol has been linked to a wide range of illnesses, such as the increased risk of mouth, pharyngeal and oesophageal cancers (this risk being greatly increased if combined with smoking). Furthermore, alcohol probably increases the risk of colorectal and breast cancer.
And the list doesn't stop there: high blood pressure, gastrointestinal complications, such as gastritis, ulcers, and liver disease, and the depletion of certain vitamins and minerals can all be caused by alcohol consumption.

Alcohol is actually a depressant. That said the reason why people drink when they are down is not because it makes them happy but because it makes them forget their problems to a degree. and if you forget then you might be happy for that moment. But once the moment passes, your probably get depressed again and might get more depressed cause you will realize alcohol didnt solve anything. So dont drink thinking its gonna solve your problems, but go ahead and drink if youre just wanting to get away and let loose for a night or 2, kindof like a cheap vacation.

Actually.. It can have the reverse effect.. If your depressed, it can make it worse. I've seen happy drunks, mean drunks and very depressed drunks. Wanna be happy.. Do something for someone less fortunate. Take a senior shopping(if you are of driving age). Volunteer time. Another thing.... Exercise is the best to boost your moods.. Good luck!

No, alcohol is a depressant so if you drink while you're sad, you will probably end up sadder and crying hysterically. It depends on the person drinking and what's going on in their life at the time. I used to drink alot, like every day after my car accident and it made me mean and angry and ready to fight. My wife on the other hand used to be fun and happy when she drank. It depends on the person. If you've never drank, don't start now.....you will regret it in the long run.

its different for all. For me it makes me feel lose and outgoing. For others it makes them kind angry and upset. If your looking to feel happy alcohol is not the way to go. It would make you even more sad after the affects ware off. You probably be crying more then you are now. To feel happy you need to be around people that are happy and like to make you laugh.
Good luck.

It does for a short while but continued use can cause the oppisite effect because it disrupts your brain chemistry and also your body will start craving it and then it develops into a problem that is no longer fun and can get depressing to many people with continued use. Plus it can cause liver damage and many more problems resulting in loss of friends, spouses, jobs, and so forth.

You probably shouldn't drink because you're sad, but yeah, alcohol makes people feel happy because it releases serotonin. The problem with that is that the next morning your body chemicals are unbalanced and you kind of feel like crap.
