War and violence are not very efficient ways to solve problems. But we love all the cool technology used in war, right? But with the rising standards of living through more open trade, we can share more technology for better farming etc, etc.

If you are asking whether globalization should have the benefit of reducing war, you are correct. Countries that trade with each other generally do not want to go to war with each other, since the products they receive from the other country will likely not be received. Now, there are a few exceptions to this. For instance, if two countries do not directly trade with each other, then going to war will not make a difference to them, so these types of wars will still occur. Also, if a country feels that it would be more beneficial for them to no longer trade but to take over the other country and thus take command of whatever resource they want, then this could lead to war. So, in theory, globalization should drastically reduce war. However, in practice, it will reduce war only on a slightly lower level.

I think the benefits of the UN are helping to stop our aggressiveness toward each other. I do not agree that globalization is helping to that end.

If globalization were done with equality in mind it would help promote piece, but today it is done by corporations for cheap labor. There is no interest in the welfare of the people of that nation or the corporation's home nation.
