Other than the obvious sexism and reverse discrimination that this is based on, can anyone offer a decent explanation?

And to those who claim men would not act in a professional manner, talk to any female lingerie/bikini model and they will tell you that
the representatives of any REPUTABLE agency/company don't oggle, they do their job without making the models uncomfortable. The same would be true for any professional reporter.

Oh stop with the "controlling urges" that is so ignorant. Most football players have athletic bodies and are ripped, and have chiseled pecs and abs. Are those not sexually attractive? You act like there is a huge difference, there is a difference, but somehow womens parts are so mighty and poweful.

Guys can control urges if they want, it's just that most are in situations where they don't care to. It's also maturity too. Another reason is that it is a job, so that is a great motivator to behave as well. That is why you're logic is so flawed.

There are many women who have male doctors, whicht these male doctors see them topless, for health checkup. There are also male gynocologists. Most of these doctors just do their business. And you know why? It's because they are professionals, mature, and doing their job. I guess women shouldn't have male doctors with you're flawed, ignorant logic. Yet, there are,and many male doctors are just fine. Case closed.

The news and sports media is out for the ratings. Period.

To have the women repoeters in the Men's locker rooms draws attention and high ratings. I agree the standard should be the same.

Remember when the Women Libs warred against women not allow into the men colleges, etc. and the like. Well the women got their way.

So, when the men wanted in Berkeley college, which is a women college, the women baulked. oooOOOoooooo we can't have that.

And so, we have the same problem with the men going to the women's locker room while there are women undressing, naked , and in the showers.

Sorry, I think the men could cover that, <=== no pun intended, just as well as the women and they should be allow access.

If the women do like it, Who give a rip! No doubt the scenery would be much better to. LOL!!

I dont know. If I had my druthers I wouldnt let women or gaylords in the men locker room. There is discrimitnaion tho because in my High school when this girl went into the guys locker room she only got a 2 suspension...and when this guy a year later went in the girls locker room..I didnt see him 4 the rest of the year

Women feel threatened when there is a guy in their locker room. So anything he does can be misinterpreted. If you were a guy would you want to go into a room that when you walk out of it you will be sued by several women thinking you were a pervert?

Innocence is irrelevant as it is her perception that matters. This is not sex descriminatin but men making a wise choice to avoid major life complications.

A lot of times, men in the locker rooms have all of their man parts covered. They can take their shirts off and it is just a guy chest (who cares, right?). But since women have more parts to hide, they can't really change with a man there.

Besides, the sexes are different. People likely believe that a woman reporter is less likely to do something indecent while in the presence of half-dressed men; whereas male reporters - or men in general - are seen as having a harder time "controlling their urges".

Did male reporters lobby for it ? A female athlete is basically a nobody, except for tennis maybe, no judge is going to believe that getting the scoop out of a Wnba player is so important to grant him acces to the inner sanctum. Nobody cares what female soccer basketball rugby players have to say, thats why there is no need to grant men access to female locker rooms.

Good question, how did that ever happen anyway? Yeah yeah, women need to be able to cover news items too, BUT if they are reporters, they must be doing it for a newspaper or tv, who must have both sexes on their staff............why don't "they" just use the appropriate sex to cover these sorts of stories, I wonder.

Things that make you go hmmmmm....

Its called "hypocrisy" and "double standard".
Women don't want EQUAL treatment like they say, they want SPECIAL treatment.
For example, they want to make as much money as a man, which is fine, but they want the man to pay for everything and do everything for them.
Also, most women percieve themselves as minorities, and align themselves as such with groups like blacks and latinos.
In actuality, women make up 50.5% of the worlds population.
In reality MEN are a minority on this planet!

A classic example of double standards. A lady reporter, walks into the men's locker room, the guys couldn't actually care. It is a novelty and amusing to them. They are comfortable with it.
A guy walks into the ladies locker room, it is dis-respectful to the women. Most women, are modest and should be given the respect due to them.
