How do I get out/survive of this class???
At my school, health is a required class. It is on my schedule to start this semester that starts monday. I cannot handle the human reproduction/STD units. They made me throw up when I took it last year. How do I keep from getting sick/get out of taking this class (at least those units)? The teacher is tough, so keep that in mind. (PS- don't say 'ditch'). Thanks so much. My rep is at stake here. LOL. Please don't say "grow up" either. I just can't handle listening to them describing all this crap that is currently irrelevent to my life. Its not that it grosses me out mentally, But physically or pshycologically it somehow makes me sick.

I know of many cases of aggregious abuses of IBM managers in the Hudson Valley who physically harassed employees, severely abused religious employees, cheated employees, sometimes rewriting history to steal many years of accomplishments. I get the feeling HR's gut reaction is to pacify the situation and keep it quiet... but never to do the right thing because its the right thing. Can a corporation like IBM really police itself or is are ethics just a for publicity thing and when no ones looking... well... they aint necessarily there. They have open door policies but in recent years managers often identify and punish those who use them.

My friend was diagnosed with this when she began acting strange one day. She would seem to be normal, but later wouldn't be aware of any conversation or actions just before. Never passed out, kept operating as usual w/memory lapses throughout the day. The doctor said it was a one time thing and could last an hour or days. Hers lasted a whole day. Has anyone else ever had this... or heard of this?

"Do i need to see a psychologist?" I am 23, and i am stricktly against depression medecins for any youth. That will bring even more probs, since these medecins help them with their worse decisions as commiting sucide, when under load of depression. So be carefull guys.

I am having negative thoughts about everything. Whenever i hear something, or see, i kinda have a negative feeling about 'em. Specially when things are about me. I just cant think positive about any one, any saying about me, any talkes and any action. Everything is just going wrong for this reason. I can advise positive to every one about different situations, but when things comes to me, then i am negative, on da spot. I just dont know what to do and how to change my thoughts and my mind. Can any one suggest what do i really need to do? Do i need to see a psychologist? Mostly when one sees a psychologist people think of her mad, i dont want others think anything negative as that about me though. Please no jokes, just serious suggestions if you may, that will be appreciated!

The women of the great depression had to sew and mend clothing, and do their laundry by hand. They made their soap from bacon fat. The women spent most of their time over a hot wooden stove cooking. They also had to do all the cleaning; such as cleaning the chicken coop, outhouses, as well as their household chores.

I found that to use in my report but I still need some information so I'll have my 3 pages. Can someone please tell me some additional facts so I can use it. Please!! As you see I'm doing my own work I just need some help.

What I mean by that is do you choose to date outside your race to anger or draw attention to others? I worked with someone who dated a person of a different race only to get attention. She would change her voice around people of that other race in order to "blend" with them...

If ya get cold ya put a sweater on, right? Now, please bear with me, cause this is a psychological question.

You get cold in the house, you put on you're sweater, and you don't turn up the heat, and you get warm, right?

So one cold person, plus one sweater, equals one warm person : problem solved.

Here's the psychological part. How come the minute people see you've put the sweater on, they put up the heat to make you warm!

Then you end up sweating to death. So you take the sweater off. So they figure you don't need the heat anymore so they turn the heat down!

Then, of course! You get cold and you must put you're sweater back on again....And so on into infinity!

Someone told me that is control. I believe it, cause' if they would just mind they're own business like they should be doing and simply stop worrying about you and take care of themselves, there would be know problem!

Doesn't sound like a big one. Add in fuel bills, breathing and skin problems.

I find that whenever I'm happy, I'm incredibly happy. Whenever something bothers me, it really upsets me. But the good thing about these intense emotions is that I turn them into something artistic. Many of the best writers and artists of our time where very sensitive. For them, any kind of creativity was like a catharsis for them.

I'm 17, everything has been going wrong in my life and I'm horribly depressed. I'm not sure but I think I found an explanation. I've looked up the symptoms and I recognized a lot of them:

Failure to pay close attention to details or making careless mistakes when doing schoolwork or other activities
Trouble keeping attention focused during play or tasks
Appearing not to listen when spoken to
Failure to follow instructions or finish tasks
Avoiding tasks that require a high amount of mental effort and organization, such as school projects
distractibility (but not excessive)
Forgetfulness (most important symptom)
inability to begin an activity
Difficulty falling asleep, may be due to too many thoughts at night
Frequent emotional outbursts
Easily frustrated
A sense of impending doom
Negativity
Frequent feeling of demoralization or that things won't work out
Trouble maintaining close friendships
Lack of talking in a relationship
Avoidance of group activities
