How do I get out/survive of this class???
At my school, health is a required class. It is on my schedule to start this semester that starts monday. I cannot handle the human reproduction/STD units. They made me throw up when I took it last year. How do I keep from getting sick/get out of taking this class (at least those units)? The teacher is tough, so keep that in mind. (PS- don't say 'ditch'). Thanks so much. My rep is at stake here. LOL. Please don't say "grow up" either. I just can't handle listening to them describing all this crap that is currently irrelevent to my life. Its not that it grosses me out mentally, But physically or pshycologically it somehow makes me sick.

you can actually have one of your parents write you a note demanding or excusing you from that section of class- or say your religion does not allow it....that's what i would do

Well you obvioussley are looking for a real response here because this is the 2nd time I have seen this question. Its ok though and I understand what you are going through. I hate hearing about blood or any internal organs myself but its part of life and school says we half to learn it. So to start off it is mental because that is what psychological is. Thus only physical due to the reactions the mental stress is causing. My best advice to you would be to speak with whoever is in charge, or the counselor and explain your situation. You will still half to take the course there is no way around that but perhaps they can provide you with an alternative way of learning. If that doesn't work then I suggest close your eyes and don't think about it. Yet do realize this IS relevant to your life and you DO half to learn one way or another. As long as you can take the notes and study them then I'm sure you will do fine, don't stress so much! Good luck! :)

Talk to your school counselor. Suggest you can do an independent study on health issues that you can handle. There are many ways health can affect our lives-- economically, historically, behaviourly, and so on.
If you can present your counselor with al alternative, you have a better chance of doing something equal to taking a health class, but not with the discomfort you get when talking about the "icky" stuff.
Just FYI-- my own health teacher in HS couldn't LECTURE on that stuff, so he taped it at home and would play us that cassette tape. LOL!
Good luck!!

Change the way of thinking about your self, by studying your own biological, chemical and physical goals.
