I'm 17, everything has been going wrong in my life and I'm horribly depressed. I'm not sure but I think I found an explanation. I've looked up the symptoms and I recognized a lot of them:

Failure to pay close attention to details or making careless mistakes when doing schoolwork or other activities
Trouble keeping attention focused during play or tasks
Appearing not to listen when spoken to
Failure to follow instructions or finish tasks
Avoiding tasks that require a high amount of mental effort and organization, such as school projects
distractibility (but not excessive)
Forgetfulness (most important symptom)
inability to begin an activity
Difficulty falling asleep, may be due to too many thoughts at night
Frequent emotional outbursts
Easily frustrated
A sense of impending doom
Negativity
Frequent feeling of demoralization or that things won't work out
Trouble maintaining close friendships
Lack of talking in a relationship
Avoidance of group activities

There's even more (limit was exceeded)

Frequent search for high stimulation (bungee jumping, gambling etc.)
Tendency to worry needlessly and endlessly
An internal sense of anxiety or nervousness
The harder one tries, the worse it gets
Startles easily

I also noticed that when I take Rilatine (which has the same effect as cocaine), everything goes much better. Without it I'm having serious problems with my social life and self confidence.

Seriously, everyone has those symptoms at one point or another. Stop trying to make an excuse for what is going on in your life and take some responsibilty. Everyone has ADD to a point. It is a crock.

At 17, there is a lot of things going on, and you will be going through tough times. Everyone goes through tough times, thats life and you learn from it. Stop making excuses.

I saw a TV show that drug makers find drugs but can not sell them until they have a purpose. With that said, the drug companies research people to find uses for what they come up with. With the reports they convince the FDA and medical world of the issue. So things like ADD are from the fact that there was a drug made to help with symptoms that everyone has so the drug makers make more money.

"no i just think you dont care"

Do you have any idea how much that hurts? You're a horrible person. You guys don't even try to understand. Everyone is treating me this way, I no longer wish to be part of this horrible world.

But hey, I don't blame anyone for this. I guess I'd react the same way if I had a perfect life like all of you *******.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such diagnosis as ADD. The correct term is ADHD. I believe you will find corroboration in the latest DSM and ICD. I wish you well.
