How about the holy bible. It seems to heal every thing.

First I had to decide if my shame/guilt was authentic. Did I violate my ethics or anothers?
It hasn't gone away but there are some things I do to heal.
Make amends to those I offended.
Learn from the experience and grow emotionally.
Do my bit to help make the world a little bit better place.
Accept that there is going to be discomfort in life.
Keep a positive attitude.
Love myself. If I don't nobody else will.

I don't know of a book. I hope this doesn't seem to be over-simplifying it.
Don't hang on to anything that doesn't serve you in life. In some form or capicity of usefulness.
If it does you no good whatsoever and doesn't serve a purpose, then why keep it. Let it go away. Don't hold it to you.
Get on with you're life the best you can, and I garentee those feelings won't have any place in you're life anymore.
You simply won't have time for them. You'll be way to busy doing things that really fullfil you, and make a difference for you.

those books are all over the self help section. In order to help i might need a bit more information. Depends on what you are ashamed or feel guilty about. Good Luck

"The Four Agreements" by don Miguel Ruiz. Inexpensive, short, easy to read, and easy to find in most bookstores. It's not religion; it's about how you think about things.
His trio of "Agreements" books has given me much pleasure and greater peace of mind.
