I am free now after my tough bachelors and now I feel depressed almost everyday. Mostly bcoz of my family and how we have learned to live and make others live in depression. Its almost like a curse. My family and society doent consider that there are things like anxiety and depression in young adults im 23 and I cant live alone coz my culture is such. Plz dont tell me to move out I really cant not til August 2007 and maybe not even then.

In my country mental health problems = Mental Hospital . Period. There are almost no phsyciatrists and even if there are I cant visit them. No way.
I have a phobia of people and its so strong that I prefer being closed up in a room rather than go meet friends. If I do I always say something wrong come home and cry..for weeks sometimes.Dont tell me I shouldnt have it coz thats what I get for asking my parents and I have NO SINCERE freind I can talk to. When I tell my mom about my problems...if she is in a bad mood ever later, she calls me abnormal.

.....since the U.S. is about the only place just about any woman can do it. How many of you carry a gun? How many of you have or are currently considering or have considered doing so? If you don't and haven't, do you know any women that do or are considering it? And why any of you think it is or isn't a good idea to do so (men and women).

She is not married and she is very protective of me. She acts very jelous that I leave her and go out with my boyfriend. I am 22 years old already! She won't let me go!!! I have a brother who lives with his fiance and she is always asking him "when are you going to marry her?" Now that I've been together with my boyfriend for a year she is asking us "when are you going to marry?" I can't stand it anymore. She acts like a child and is very demanding of my attention. She doesn't drive and is always asking me for a ride. When my boyfriend and I are together she makes plans that don't fit our schedule and is pissed off when I tell her I can't help her out. I love my mother and I want to know how to remove myself without "hurting" her feelings.

I dont like creepy crawlies but my biggest fear is of holes! bizarre as it may sound, my friend used to stab holes in playdough when i was young and chase me, it made me really cry!
The other week me and my partner were watching planet earth, it had a fungus on it which grew holes in it and when speeded up, yuk! feel sick, any way went to make a cuppa and when i got back i turned to look at the tv and my partner had it on pause! i felt physically sick and bagan to cry!
My 2 year old will not touch cotton wool and i have a friend that has a fear of barnicles! any one else have strange phobias!

I'm looking for serious answers here. Nothing along the lines of "duh" or "of course".

I'm just wondering, because I haven't been able to find a woman who thinks that it's important for a man to live his life with integrity. Most women that I know think that it's great when a man is unfaithful, lazy, bullying, and dishonest in general. They view him as being a "bad boy" who has "edge" and is a "challenge".

On the other hand, a man who is confident, mentally and physically healthy, a community leader, intelligent, romantic, honest, and would be a devoted husband and father, is seen as "boring" and "too nice".

Why is this? Do these women have low self-esteem and think that they don't deserve better . . . or, do men of integrity have to start being losers in order for women to appreciate them?

I look forward to your intelligent and well-thought-out answers

with a positive sounding word is pathetic.
doesnt that word merely mean escalating the production of useless items that advertisers try to con us into wanting?
its ironic that economists try to apropriate a word with such ecologically benign connotations[growth], while so called "growth" is leading to the decreased viability of this planet for future generation of all life forms.
do they really operate under the delusion that there can be continous growth ad infinitum with no negative consequences
i know fishermen used to have these delusions about a never ending supply of fish..i thought economists were more intelligent than fishermen..maybe not!!
do all people in the mathematical sciences despise organic life or what? will they only be happy when they have computer brains and android bodies!!
i dont want to hear about economic growth, i dont want us to be cutting others throats so we can prosper, and demolishing communities and environments abroad as long as it makes us money.

We have, what I believe to be a big problem in America that needs to be addressed thouroughly. Many adult men are no longer initiating any sort of contact with younger people. Many are afraid and don't want to be accused of pedophilia. This witchhunt has been going on for about 5 years now and has divided the young and the old. I wanted to know how you think this wiil impact our society over the long haul? They say older people have lots to offer the young. I enjoyed talking with older people when I was young and learned many things from them. So, this paranoid mentality - is it detrimental to the health and longevity of such a so-called (USA) proud people? Whats your take?

We invest a great deal in our worldview, in the conclusions we arrive at about the nature of life, its meaning and its purpose. Our identities are usually bound up in what we believe, or don't believe.

Regardless of how justified we may feel, how many of us can honestly examine those core aspects of ourselves without feeling that our very identities are being threatened?
