I am free now after my tough bachelors and now I feel depressed almost everyday. Mostly bcoz of my family and how we have learned to live and make others live in depression. Its almost like a curse. My family and society doent consider that there are things like anxiety and depression in young adults im 23 and I cant live alone coz my culture is such. Plz dont tell me to move out I really cant not til August 2007 and maybe not even then.

In my country mental health problems = Mental Hospital . Period. There are almost no phsyciatrists and even if there are I cant visit them. No way.
I have a phobia of people and its so strong that I prefer being closed up in a room rather than go meet friends. If I do I always say something wrong come home and cry..for weeks sometimes.Dont tell me I shouldnt have it coz thats what I get for asking my parents and I have NO SINCERE freind I can talk to. When I tell my mom about my problems...if she is in a bad mood ever later, she calls me abnormal.

You have a very real problem...but you need to talk to someone, even if you know the're not sincere. You didn't say where you live, but it sounds grim. Are there any clergymen or priests you can confide in? At least you have internet access, so you can at least reach out to those of us here. There are many good people here who might be able to direct you to some links that may give you some relief. Good luck and God Bless.

Do not consider yourself helpless because of your country or culture. Your the way you think makes you feel the way you do. Get a new hobby or keep yourself busy. If you join a hobby class, wou cuold make some new friends there. Do you work? If not, getting a job would force u to interact with colleagues and that will help you overcome your phobia or insecurities while interracting with others, as well as make you financially more secure thus making you more confident. It is not possible that there are no psychiatriasts anywhere in your country. Yet, if you cannot find one, a local doctor can prescribe antidepressants that are really helpful. There is no need to go to a 'mental hospital' and definitely no need to tell anyone that you're seeing a doctor regarding this problem of yours. You are entitled to a right to privacy and confidence so the doctor you see won't tell anyone else unless you tell him/her to involve your family etc. - This law applies in most countries - even in India where such a culture exists. What you basically need to do is get out of your shell, boost your self confidence - do something you like and are good at...If you don't know yet, it's high time you tried things and discovered yourself. Once your confidence levels are high, you'll not fear interacting. If you are an introvert, you can bury yourself in books or entertaining movies etc. However, you could make a few friends and go out too. It will take time for you to trust someone and become best friends but if you don't mingle that wont happen. It all starts with an aquaintaince.... So best of luck

Well, you have to talk out your problems some how. Everyone needs to vent out their inner frustration, depression. The reason why some people are called mentally ill because they have no where to vent out their problems and they are not getting respect and things got stuck in the mind long enough and they will go crazy soon.

I suggest you find someone to talk out your problem. Yes, loneliness is a horrible enemy. I suggest you go to church and seek spiritual help if possible.

If you need further additional help, I am here to help.

I am not sure about if you are religious or not, but I am a Christian the bible does discuss the idea of Generational Curses. Maybe you need to pray and allow God to heal you from the inside out. There is nothing He cannot tackle if you allow Him to help you.

Also, read this, it may help you...

I sympathize with you and want you to consider this. Depression is a state of mind ,true? well then this deals with the mind. The mind is without doubt influenced by our spirit or deep beliefs. If we are depressed then we must forget ourselves and turn to the pure nature of spirit to assist us. It sounds to me like you do not have much confidance in this sort of thing or do you? Please respond back to me and we will talk more, if not then you are not intrested in this solution and I will understand D

Why are you afraid of people? We are all equal no matter how you feel about someone else. don't be afriad to talk to people. You never know if one day, you will find a friend who doesn't mind your depression. (no offense).

Maybe you should pray, and be friends with god. i know it sounds kind of dumb, but i'm sure if you pray and are patient, then you can have a close relationship with god. God wants you to be his friend . God will make your spirit happier

I want you to pray. You can talk to me any time you want. You can e-mail me at stegmanmcgee@yahoo.com and we can exchange e-mail info and names and stuff. I know exactly how you feel because I felt like that for a long time.
