I have difficulties confronting people and apologizing for events that happened hours or more before i realize that i need to. I fear the rejection and what my reaction to myself might be or possibly embarrassing myself. What do I do?

Is rejection worth not trying? If you are rejected so what, is it the end of the world? Will u die after u have been rejected? Is there any law that says that life will stop after u have been rejected? It would be preferable if people did not reject you but even if they do it doesnt mean its the end or the world. Its a fact that we are born in a world where we are constantly being evaluated and judged, so what?

Of course who would like not to be accepted? But life goes on even if things happen. Nature's rule is that of the survival of the fittest, so try, fall and get up again and be assertive my dear. A try is always worth better than not attempting at all my dear. Its all how you think about things. Its all about your cognition.

Even if your zip was opened while giving a speech or you had worn your clothes on the reverse side, till how long do you think people will remember that? Till how long will they think about it? one day two days, certainly not a year...how many people have u met so far, do u remember each and every single detail of what was wrong with them? people are forgetful, its only us that dramatize things.

So what if you did anything stupid? they will laugh for sure, be happy that you've brought a smile on the faces of so many. We are all overwhelmed by life issues yet few of us manage to keep a smile, so be happy if they laugh at you.

A behavior therapist might help you with an assertion training that will help you overcome interpersonal conflicts like if you have trouble expressing yourself. Like your fear of confronting people or apologizing. This form of training operates on the basis that we have the right to express ourselves without harming others.

Remember that its how you think about it!All the best!

Why are you afraid of their rejection? Don't you have a right to make mistakes? Everyone does. Apologizing for a mistake is an act of character that you should be proud of. They will think more of you if you apologize for a mis-step than if you don't.

Take care

don't worry so much about what others will think of you. apologizing isn't easy, but just know that what you are doing is very mature. It doesn't matter if that person doesn't forgive you 'cause atleast you did the right thing.
