Currently I'd say Mexican immigrants, especially those who fall under anything near the stereotypical "illegal" version. They do the most undesirable jobs yet have relatively little say in how things run and are villified by the so-called decision-makers.

Blue collar works the gap between rich and poor has grown drastically. Despite what some people like to believe hard work can only take you so far. Some people will always fall through the cracks unfortunately in America if you fall in acrack they leave you there.

Definitely the working class. There are a lot of people who will never have the money or opportunity to retire. These include the lower middle class, and the people who are in the growing number of job classifications that only hire people (professional and otherwise) part time (and without benefits).

the peasants are anyone who doesn't have the will to not be one. In the united states anyone can be moderately wealthy all they have to do is work hard and not settle for less than their personal goals

I'd say wage slaves who earn about $8.50 an hour or less would qualify as serfs or peasants.
