Prevention is the best treatment. Try not to have too much
at the party. However, if you figure that you will overindulge one more time, try taking one or two
potassium gluconate tablets before you start, then have a
glass of water between drinks.
Also, before you leave the house, freeze some Gatorade
or Pedialyte. Make ice cubes or popsicles from those and
have them ready for the following day. These are
especially useful, since you might not be able to keep
regular fluids in your stomach for long. The dreaded
reverse peristalsis!
Since you'll be dehydrated and desperate for water, sucking the ice or making sno-cones will be a little more
tolerable. Gradual water intake rather than sudden...

Drink 2 large glasses of water as soon as you get out of bed to get rid of any dehydration, try to make the water lightly warm, and don't replace water with a drink containing alcohol in this step!
Drink a cup of coffee or two as soon as possible! Coffee contains caffeine which is a very strong vasoconstrictor which will narrow the swollen blood vessels in your head.
Make a nice, hot bowl of chicken soup, as soon as you have overcome the queasiness. This soup will help replace the salt and potassium, the body loses salt and potassium when you have been drinking.
Your next instinct will be to stay in bed. Instead, take a quick walk around your street. Go for a walk or even a run! You could even take your dog who has had hardly any sleep all night, because you came back around 3am, talking at the top of your voice.
Fruit can help restore nutrition.
Drink some sort of fruit juice, it contains simple sugar fructose, which speeds up the metabolism of alcohol.

Some people love to drink and sometimes too much of it can cause them to have a hangover when they wake up. Too much alcohol depletes the body of necessary substances required to stay healthy, these include blood sugar, vitamins and minerals. It is not fun because the person can have headaches, migraines, or even throw up. Yet, millions wake up with one everyday.
Even when drinkers know their own tolerances and limits, hangovers seem to strike with a great deal of inconsistency. Getting drunk is, for better or worse, the poisoning of your body. Alcohol enters your bloodstream at a rapid rate, smothering the frontal lobe of your brain, which releases its control of your judgment and social inhibitions. All symptoms of hangovers stem from your body's attempts to process alcohol and rid your system of it. What causes hangovers is dehydration.
Here’s how to reduce hangovers:
*Having a full stomach when you are drinking helps to slow down the effects of alcohol and reduce the severity of a hangover. Never drink on an empty stomach.
*Drinking water in between drinking this way prevents you from drinking more alcohol.
*Mixing drinks can be what causes them hangovers try not to mix them up.
Some cures that can help you with your hangover are:
*Sleep it off really even if it is for a few minutes or a few hours.
*Exercise will help you sweat the alcohol out of your system.
*Eating can help you feel much better.
*Take 2 ibuprofen.
*Eat something with sugar like a cookie or brownie.

Since hangovers are primarily caused by dehydration to your brain, the best way to eliminate a hangover is to prevent it in the first place. Though my hard core drinking days are behind me what I always did was drink a VERY large glass of water and take at least one aspirin (Excedrin is my favorite) before I went to bed. If I happened to forget but got up in the middle of the night to relieve myself, etc, it was THEN that I drank that big glass of water and took the asprin. By "Big" I'm talking minimum 32 ounces. I have NEVER gotten a hangover the next day if I follow that. If I forgot to drink the water, the best way "the day after" to deal with it is to suck down as much water as you can and supplement that with aspirin, Tylenol, Advil, or whatever tickles you.
Oh one other thing, my sister taught me this. To stop the room from spinning when drinking, take some dramamine or other motion sickness aid prior to drinking. I haven't tried this yet but my sister swears it keeps the room from spinning while intoxicated.

To add to the previous correct answers (sleep, drinking water while drinking AND before passing out), drink coffee in the morning. Not only will the stimulation of the caffiene perk you up faster, two cups a day actually help to prevent liver disease. Every drinker should know this.
Telling you to not drink is stupid and condescending.

Drink lots of fluids (aside from alcohol ^_~) Hangovers are actually a sign of dehydration. Try to drink at least a little water on nights when you drink, and that should help prevent hangovers.

Drink a lot of water. the reason your head hurts is because your body is dehydrated. Take discomfort killers for headache, take a chilly bathe and eat candies... sugar lowers the alcohol aspect :)

Don't drink a drop. Have some sparkling wine instead. Tastes good and there's different flavors.
