What makes me who I am, genetics or upbringing?
How is it that when I'm sad, I find comfort in singing?
Always on the defensive, while in search for inner peace..
To only have love on my side..would be such a release...
Another emotion after the last, I'm tossed to and fro...
May I have a moment, to let emotion go?
In my heart and mind a whirlwind, my thoughts are aimed one way..
Today I feel quite melancholy, but not over run by dismay...
Only as I write a poem, can I feel at least a break,
Doing so brings me resolution, to hasty decisions I make...
Otherwise, I would bottle this up..and eventually my bottle would burst..
So if you decide this is a time for criticsm, don't feel priviledged, you are not the first...
My question is simple, and after all this, may I feel that I may conclude..
That I'm doing a good job keeping it together, when I feel that I should come unglued?

I am doing research and would love for some additional thoughts and opinions on this subject. It is said that children will not be labeled these diagnoses, but yet how can we help them if so many of the warning signs are either ignored or not diagnosed until after the child is 18 or older? How can we stop this pattern? Do these children have to kill (things or people) before they are able to be identified or is there a better way ....?Case in point... A child who shows no remorse, lacks responsiblity, refuses to put effort into positive things (but will put in effort into lying and denying), purposefully "eggs" others on to see responses, refuses to acknowledge others thoughts or feelings, is distructive and purposefully will break and destroy things... Are these not some of the characteristics that lead to the previous diagonsises? So we go back to the original question. Why does a child on the path to being a sociopath or psychopath have to kill before being diagnosed and treated?

Have you ever felt disdain, but did not care to vent?
Did you feel as if it was in vain, all that time you spent?
In solitude could you feel the weight, of others around the earth?
Has this been a cross you bore, ever since your birth?
Can you look into someones eyes, the only honest view.
And there it is, the window to life, staring back at you!
Were you questioned by many, your ways, your looks, your mind?
Did some mine the minerals in your head, with only rocks to find?
The boulders you used to build a wall, that nothing could destroy,
Your blood and sweat had built that boundary, the stinging wounds annoy.
But as you look at the finished product, a wall built around you.
You realize that now there is no way for anyone to get through!
Into your heart, where you need them most,You turn and walk away,
No matter how alone you feel, each and every day.
Do you begin to tear the wall down, so an entrance may be made?
Or have the toils of all your labor, left you underpaid?

My ex and I broke up about 3 months ago because we just we not getting on, we had been together for a year.

As we work together I have seen her everyday since and we agreed to just be friends.

A couple of days ago i found out that she has a new boyfriend and I just feel crushed inside and cant sleep properly with the bad feelings i have.

Why am i feeling like this?? I know we would never work together as the last 6 months of our relationship were not good. I would not get back with her and i do not love her. But i do miss having her around

She was always very good in the bedroom so is it just jealousy that im feeling? as i do miss the sex as i havent met a new girlfriend yet?

HELP ME i need to understand this to move on

How to not get affected it? It's an ideal situation to stop any contact with such people, but it's easier said than done. Some things in life are obligatory without a why. And to block out any negative aura, is also impossible. Hence how can a person, be secure from any negativity? How to train your body, heart and mind to be pure of any negatives. After all we, all are humans, and creatures of emotion, lust, and desires.

Just curious. It seems like people with low self esteem sometimes come across as moody and can be nasty sometimes. Have you ever noticed they seem to lash out at others when they feel hurt? I just wonder what is going on in the mind.

I'm a very shy person. I used to be more outgoing, but I have always been shy. My parents and teachers have always gotten mad at me for being shy and tell me to just snap out of it.

This summer I was suicidal. Since then I’m shyer and I don’t like talking to anyone... I’m more withdrawn and I just don’t care. Talking seems so pointless.

I want to be more sociable but I just stay quiet because it’s easy to do… And when I talk, I talk too quiet and everyone asks me to speak up.

Suppose you are passing through a dangerous jungle. You hear the sounds of beasts. View a snake moving in front of you. The surroundings make you feel that your life is in danger. You become alert and start running fast. While running a thorn prick in your foot you scream and at once hold back your foot, remove the thorn and start running again.

After running fifteen to twenty minutes you reach the main road and catch a bus passing on the road. You feel that you are out of danger now. You start feeling relax and calm.

Name and brief the parts of nervous system which are being working in the above mentioned two emotional conditions. Also what type of the reflex action mention in the above situation.

But as I grew up I was so afraid of becoming like them, that I became someone completely different. I’m too nice and caring. I notice how uncaring my parents are. Even though they are so hateful to me, I try to me nice to them all the time and I don’t want anything in return (I don’t think I understand people caring about me because of my upbringing. I just care for others.). I try to, in a sense, be the caring parent for my younger siblings… because my parents are so uncaring. But I don’t see my family as my family, but as someone I’m forced to live with…

My question is how did I turn out so different? I mean people say you become like your parents but I’m NOT anything like them. I try to be the person they never were.

I don't fit in with them. When I leave home, I never want to come back. They are so heartless and uncaring.

Over the last few years I have looked at many different methods of developing inner peace, and mind contol(meditation, tai chi, mantras, proverbs, ancient knowledge, religion etc). One of the best ways I have found, is the importance of managing internal stimuli ie negative thoughts, intrusive thoughts, feelings and emotions. One of the methods is simply-meditation style-ignoring these games of the mind ie not energising. Trying not to think internally ie keeping focussed on whats around you etc, rather than focused internally/on self. Any thoughts on this? Is it best to simply not think about self, and let the brain/mind do its thing? Almost a paradox-to get the best from the mind requires stopping your thoughts? Big topic I know, any thoughts on this subject(s) would be appreciated and read with interest. Many thanks.

When someone answers someone elses question, and yo don't like it, you report it to have it removed. If you ask a question to complete strangers, you should expect some kind of answer, whether you agree with it or not. I don't mean racial or insulting answers...I am talking about other answers.
