I'm a college student, constantly drifting away from my responsibilities. I know why I need to exercise self-discipline. I know exactly what's at stake, and I've been burned more than once by my lack of it. So how do I make the jump between that knowledge and knowing HOW to discipline myself?

In summary:
WHO: Me.
WHAT: Self-discipline.
WHEN: Now.
WHERE: University of Houston.
WHY: So I won't fail, drop out, lose whatever pride I have left. If possible, keep my scholarship and stay in the Honors College.
HOW: ???

How do you believe ones self-sustained inadequecies insecurities expectations general personality and self-esteem interact and effect them and their actions and decisions on a day-to-day basis? Also some specific examples to apply to this question: One middle aged male with a history of substance abuse and a desire to control his environment. low self esteem but too much pride to admit it. Views all things as a threat becasue he won't let himself trust anyone or anything. Uses agression as a deterent for undesirable responses. Fully functional in society, mentally stable.2: Young woman brought up in a well-to-do family, with encouraging parents she believes to have ulterior motives. Has a tendency to isolate herself from people as a defense mechanism, but she is essentially functional in social settings. Fronts arrogance but doesn't enjoy confrontation, in fact she fears it.
Please answer the general question and the 2 hypothetical applications thereof... Thanx Peace and GOD bles

About six years ago I was molested. I was ten years old & didn't tell anyone. For a few years after that I blocked it out of my memory. But I had to take a survey in 9th grade about sexual abuse, and all the memories came back. Since then I think about it constantly, what I woulda-coulda-shoulda done, and I feel guilty.

I can't seem to open up to people, and I get scared of people when they have a crush on me. I'm not afraid of guys, or being touched, like people would think if I told them.

I just told my parents last night and my best friends today. My parents said that we could take it somewhere legally, and get me counselling, but only with my permission. What are my options? Are there any sights that might help me out or give me some information?

I have this thing where I have to have things a certain way. It's kind of like if I take something out of place (not always, but some things) then things will change, I won't get to do the things I want in the future. At the same time, I want things to change! Something as simple as how much a door is shut will keep me standing there for a minute adjusting it til I like it. It's hard to explain, but it's like something like that can change what will happen in the future. Is this OCD or some form of it? Am I superstitious? I know it sounds really dumb.. but I'm just looking for a serious answer. Thanks!

The two most important arguments for death penalty are:

F1) It is a strong deterrent
F2) It is essential for retribution

The two most important arguments against death penalty are:
A1) It is not a good deterrent
A2) The law might be objective, but its implementation is very subjective. Once life is taken a subjective error cannot be corrected.

Sorry, I cannot include any religious arguments

I strongly agree with F1 and F2. But A2 is true. In my opinion A2 trumps both F1 and F2 - so I am against it.

Your thoughts?

My just showed us this magic trick which he refuses to give
the answer to. He has an assistant-who lets us pick an
object quietly. Everyone knows the object except the
teacher. The object of this is for the teacher to determine
the object. The assistant points to objects and he answers
correctly everytime. He even got the answer with his eyes
closed-with the assistant not speaking. How is this
possible? He says it has something to do with scientific
method..

times companies and individuals actively
lobby to prevent the information even
being added to places where the English
