I have this thing where I have to have things a certain way. It's kind of like if I take something out of place (not always, but some things) then things will change, I won't get to do the things I want in the future. At the same time, I want things to change! Something as simple as how much a door is shut will keep me standing there for a minute adjusting it til I like it. It's hard to explain, but it's like something like that can change what will happen in the future. Is this OCD or some form of it? Am I superstitious? I know it sounds really dumb.. but I'm just looking for a serious answer. Thanks!

I don't know what it is... but I got it too! Could be a mild form of OCD.
But I do understand what you are saying!

This does indeed sound like a form of OCD. The trick is to not let it take control of your life as it can do if you are not careful.

The door thing sounds a little out of control, not much but a little. Personally I went through a phase of it and then managed to break out of it by deliberately trying to break cycles and patterns. It was scary but it worked eventually.

If it bothers you, or gets a bit more severe I suggest you go to a Doctor about it.

Hope you manage to sort it out,

Taraman

It sounds a lot like OCD; I should know I suffer from it too. I am on medication to help me deal with it. I believe in a way that doing the repetitive behavior and having the occurring thoughts helps us to feel that we have control over something. We feel as though other have stripped us of power or control so we do these thing to make ourselves feel "in control".
Do you also having an eating disorder? Same theory applies to that also.

It is probably a mild form of OCD. It will become worse if left untreated.

There is help available mostly from behavioural therapists, who will give you relaxation therapy and breathing exercises first.

Only then will you be able to face the problem and effect change for yourself.

Some people cannot have their way in life even if they wanted to.Every Republican in Congress would have loved to have their way and won their seats over !! They lost !! Having your way is not like standing in line at Mc Donalds to buy a burger!! Tomorrow does not gurantee that you will have your way in anything including being alive to ask the question.Live and enjoy life now.Your future is NOW!!

As I started reading this, right away I thought OCD, you can be tested for this and learn ways how not to do it.

i see a few things
1. you are selfish to extreames
2. you are a fraid to take action and do stuff for yourself
3. but if you feel like your going to die have trouble breathing, or lose some of your sences then you could have a issue i would see a doctore...
don't feel bad if it's 1 or 2 we all get like that at one point... the bad part about it is when we go into deinail about it!!!
Good luck:)
