My just showed us this magic trick which he refuses to give
the answer to. He has an assistant-who lets us pick an
object quietly. Everyone knows the object except the
teacher. The object of this is for the teacher to determine
the object. The assistant points to objects and he answers
correctly everytime. He even got the answer with his eyes
closed-with the assistant not speaking. How is this
possible? He says it has something to do with scientific
method..

Might be even easier, has the assistant been instructed before performing the trick? If yes, you only need a "secret sign" from the teacher to tell the assistant to point to the right object next. Like when the teacher does an innocent looking move, scratches him self etc. just wait 2 secs afterwards and then say "he's pointing at the object now".

If the assistant points to the object, and the teacher's eyes are shut, how does the teacher know he's being asked if this is the right object? I'm sure that the assistant says something like, "Is this the object?" or something like that. The trick is using certain key words or phrases when asking the teacher if "this is the right object". For example, if the assistant uses any of the words like "how", or "maybe", it can be prearranged to signal to the teacher that the object he's pointing to is the right one. So, "How about this one?" will tip the teacher off that it's the right one, for example.
