I know there are people who have life harder than myself, but I have had a lot of bad things happen to me and I can't stop pitying myself. The fact that people in hospitals and third world countries have it harder than I do does not seem to stop me from pitying myself.

Sexy,

Wow, thank you so much for composing such a detailed and thoughtful reply to my recent message. So where are you hiding that PhD degree? You have incredible insights and ability to drill down to the nuances most anyone would miss. I knew you were special...this example just continues to reveal that fact. Yet I am still astonished and even swept away by the depth of feedback you have given me. That you care enough to even take the time, the kind effort & thought, is impressive. But the ability you possess for finding a subjective meaning, is brilliant.

I've had to read your reply several times, just to take it all in. Some points you make I might disagree with initially, but actually you're probably right even if I don't want to admit it. I don't see myself as complex enough, emotionally, to have "innermost" feelings of any kind. Whether it is fear, as you state-- or simply the fact I am a "loner," there is a major tendency on my part to avoid emotions and personal connections. You haven't taken it as a personal insult that I am like this, although you easily could have started finding fault in response if you were a different kind of person. But since you are a wise, caring, brilliant man, you actually see that there is more than meets the eye when figuring out why people do the things they do.

I hope maybe we can talk or chat later, but if not, I will get back with you sometime soon.

With awestruck love,

Pumpkin

When i was really little i was very out going and fun to be around, but when i was in elementray and middle school i was harrassed by the kids and i became this self inclosed book worm. I hardly ever have any friends and i have trouble keeping one for more then two years and i don't know why, though i am sure it is me not them.

I have been having the same dream since i was 6 years old (now 16) and it is about me being noticed by several worlds, in the begging i was a hero and everyone loved me, but as the years progressed i became this monster in my dreams. I would kill people and even come to a point of killing my sister though in both dream and reality i love her.

I am very depressed and yes i am seeing a counsler and a phycatrist i am also on prozac and yes i have heard that it can cause people to be more suicidal and all of that but this was going on way way before any of the counslers and meds. Am i monster inside or is it something deeper, they are starting to scare me

The five stages of grieving are:
Denial: feeling of numbness or shock, thoughts that this can't be true or there has been some mistake, feeling that time briefly suspends itself, a sense of unreality
Anger: feelings of anger toward the person that told you the news or the loved one, anger at anyone you can hold accountable, even God
Bargaining: trying to negotiate with another person or God, saying if you reverse this I will do this
Depression: sink into deep sadness when you realize the death is real, feelings of loneliness, hopelessness, experience lack of energy, crying over small incidents
Acceptance: finding peace within yourself despite the loss. feel a great love for the person and miss him or her but now able to move on and focus on daily tasks, have a new awareness of how precious life is

Is this at all common for women. It seems like its stereotypical that women love to shop. I don't like it much. I suppose it doesn't help being on a limited budget. I hate trying to find the best quality lowest price item that fits my needs and preferences.

ugh especially clothes and shoes shopping because I am tall for a female.

Sorry if this is a little long. Here's some background info in case it proves to be relevant. I've seen a psychiatrist since I was younger, and only felt that I needed to be there when I hit 16. I became severely depressed and would have panic attacks when I felt that things were spiraling out of my control. I would hold in my anger/frustration until I couldn't take it anymore.

It's been 4 years since the worst of my attacks or feeling that way. I don't see my psychiatrist anymore.

Lately, though whenever I leave the house, I feel so insecure and sad. I feel as though everyone is staring at me, and that when I try to be friendly towards people, it's not reciprocated. I can't really explain it, it's just a feeling that not many people like me, and I know this shouldn't matter because it's usually just looks from strangers on the street that leave me feeling this way. I already know I'm insecure and painfully shy, I just don't want to feel this way anymore. Advice or thoughts?

What about with a friend or partner? Is there something specific you say? Do you let sexism just kind of slide because that's the way things are? Do you have any stories about a time (or many) when you stood up to sexism from someone in your life?
