I am writing a paper for school in the only topic I can think of is insider trading. This is ok but most of my research has not givin me the pros- cons or for and agaisnt that I need. Any help would be very appriecated.

There was an act called Grahm Leach Blilley (not so sure of the spelling) that allowed for significant deregulation in the U.S. banking system. I don't know if something affecting only the U.S. is what you were wanting exactly. The act allowed banks to participate in investing and also allowed banks to invest in stocks much like the Japanese do (called kiertsu).. they say it would make banks biased in lending and whatnot. Also it allows more mergers in the banking industry.

Insider trading in not controversial, everyone thinks it is bad.

The SEC has proposed that stock options given to employees of a corporation be shown as an expense on profit/loss statements to stockholders.

There are regulation called Sarbanes-Oxely that business wants repealed.

Whether our large balance of payments deficit will harm the US economy.
